golds, zinnias, asters and croton

Cover? were laid after several
progressions of bridge and a
shrimp salad and dessert course
was served with tea.
The bridge games were resum
ed and prizes awarded Mrs, Jim
mie Simpson and Mrs. Sam Davis
for compiling the two highest
scores.
Those playing other than mem
bers were Mrs. Jimmie Simpson,
Mrs. Sam Davis, Mrs. Paul Neis
ler, Mrs. Paul Hendricks,' and
Mrs. Johnnie Smathers.

Artistic arrangements of tube
roses and caladiums were used
on the porch where tables ".vcrc
placed for bridge. When guests
had assembled. Coca Colas and
nuts were served.

were enjoyed.

The table held a very unique
center piece composed of yellow
chrysanthemums and an airplane.
A three course dinner was served.
Those attending the dinner

The honoree was showered with
gifts from those present and pre

ning at 10:30 o'clock in compli
ment to Mrs. Frank Hoyle, Jr.,
who left Monday to make her
home in Hendersonville.
The Crawford home was lavish
ly decorated with colorful flow
ers. In the living room crepe My
rtio and roses were utilized. De
corations in the dining room were
especially note worthy. Original
and unique arrangements of the
table appointments created a fes
tive setting for the occasion. A
lovely green cloth overlaid the
table. Ice Cokes Were served from
a large crystal bowl, the base of
which was encircled with magno
lia foliage and ivy. The floral
design was red sage and zinnias.

Crawford and the honoree, Mrs.
Hoyle received informally in the
living room. Mrs. Coman Fails
directed callers to the dining
room.
Refreshments were served by
Mrs. Wilson Crawford and Miss
Jeannette Falls.

P. Lewis entertained in the den.
Around thirty close friends of
the honoree called during the par

The Setting
A program of wadding music
was presented by Mrs. Vernon
Lapp and Frances Norton. '
White flowers and lighted tap
ers, arranged against a back
ground of huckberry greenery,
fashiohed the nuptial setting.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was lovely in a gown
of white Chantiily lace und .nylon
tulle fashioned with an illusion
yoke and long full skirt. Her
headdress was of matching lace
and she carried a spray of white
orchids and carnations on a pray
er book.
Miss Patsy Potts of Atlanta,
Ga. was a bridesmaid. The honor
attendants were Miss Jeannie Ma
son of Montgomery, Ala., and
Mrs. William C. Ray, Jr. of Bir
mingham. They were dressed in
pink organdy and carried bou
quets of pink asters.
The bridegroom had his father
as bestman. Ushers were John L.
Moore, Charles W. Moore, Robert
P. Shield and William K. Blake.
For her daughters wedding,
Mrs. Moore had chosen a mauve
crepe de chene dress and navy
accessories with a white orchid
corsage.
Reception
Immediately following the cere
mony a reception was held at the
Lamba Chi Fraternity House. The
bride's table was overlaid with a
handsome lace cloth. The tiered
wedding cake, white carnations,
and lighted tapers in a silver can
delabra completed the appont
ments.
Mr. and Mrs. Shields both at
tended Polytechnic Institute
where Mrs. Shields has been em
ployed recently.
Wedding Trip
For their weddiag trip to Flori.
da, the bride had selected a nut
meg grown tweed suit and candy
brown accessories.
They will live in Maryland
where Lt. Shields is stationed
with the U. S. Army.
