jChaxch Extension Seivice Satuiday An all night church extension Service will be held at Mission ary (Methodist church, Second Street. In the Cora Mill village community Saturday, October 34 th. Hiree pastors in addition to Rev. Clyde Moloney, pastor, of the Missionary (Methodist chur ch, will conduct the service and group singers,. including the Hullender Sisters, of Kings Mountain, and the Hampton r Quartet of Cherokee Falls, S. C., will be present. The service begins at 7:30, Rev. Clyde Maloney, -said in making the announcement. Their 30 day sentences were suspended. Bonds were forfeited in cases charging James Roy Xedbetter, of Chestney, S. C., and Steven T. Weiss, of Camp Houston, Va? with speeding. Capais was Issued for John Dwayne Quinn, charged with fai lure to pay a taxi fare. Two defendants were found guilty of public drunkenness, and were assessed court costs. North Carolina peanut farm ers are expected to produce 311, 550,000 pounds this year, compar ed with the 1952 crop of 231,250, U00. New Band Officers Elected At School Kings Mountain high school band officers for the 1953-54 school term have been elected. Susan Moss is president of the band organization and Bill San ders, vice-president. Other officers are Butch IIou ser, secretary; Patsy Goforth, treasurer; Bud Ware, student council representative; Winf red White and Nick Smith, property custodians. . New merhbers of the council are Donna Cheatham, Harold Ellis, Charles Yawn, Mary Owens, Billie Mabry, and Pat Owens. New majorettes are Jginice Sto gner and Joyce Owens. Flag car rier, recently elected is Hazel Nance and' Gary AHran, drum major. ABOARD CARRIER RDSA Harold Dean Spears, United States Navy, is aboard the USS Essex stationed out from San Diego, California. The USS Essex leaves December 1 for overseas duty.
