Mr. and Mrs. Tom Crawford returned from San Diego, Calif., Friday after spending a week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Crawford, USN. On their return trip, they stopped for a short vis it with Mrs. Crawford's brother, Robert Reynolds and family of El Paso, Texas, i ? . Methodist Circle No. 8 Held Meeting Monday Circle No. 8 of Central Metho dist church held their December meeting Monday night with Mrs. P. L. Shore, Jr., as hostess at her home cm W. Mountain street. The meeting was opened with a period of silent prayer. Mrs. Edith Goforth led in the devo tion0.! - meditation, reading the Ohri&cmas story from St Luke's gospel. Mrs. James Dickey, program chairman for December, read three Christmas stories, "The Christmas Candle," "The Story of the Christmas Bells," and "The Birth of Christ." A nativity scene had been set up in the Shore llvingroom and the program centered around the Christmas story During the business session Miss Marion Arthur gave a re port on the sending of gifts from the circle to needy families of the community, Gifts, toys, and clothing were brought to the meeting by each member. The meeting was adjourned by group prayer in unison. Fol lowing the business session, a social hour was enjoyed and re freshments were served. directed prayer led by Mrs. Nan nie Kitchen and a devotional read by Mrs. Mary Stone and Mrs. S. T. McAbee. A program, "The Gift of God's Love" was presented by Mrs. I. W. Ledford, Mrs. Emmie Benfield, Mrs. Frank Ware, and Mrss Ilia Fipps. Mrs. Howard Allen closed the program with prayer and the group sang, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."
