Wright - Seism Party
Feted At Cake Cutting
Following the Wright-Seism
wedding rehearsal In Central
Methodist church last Saturday
evening Miss Pashla Wright and
Mrs. W. F. Osborne , entertained
at a cake-cutting and after-rte
hearsal party at Kings Mountain
Woman's club.
Guests were greeted at the Wo
man's club front entrance by Mr.
and Mrs. W. F. Osborne and pre
sented to the honored couple, Miss
Joann Wright and Clyde Eltem
Seism of Lawndale, and their pa
rents, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Wright
and Mr. and Mrs. Clem Dixon
Seism of Lawndale.
A three - tiered white and green
wedding cake topped with minia
ture bride and groom figurines
centered the refreshment table,
which was overlaid with a white
outwork cloth of lace embroidery.
Two three . branched candela
brum holding white lighted tapers
were used art either end of the
refreshment table around center
piece bases of white carnations,
fern, and Ivy.
Single candelholders holding
white lighted candles were used
on the livlngroom mantel-board
around decorations of white car
nations, fern, and ivy. Other flor
al arrangements were used
throughout the room.
Mrs. James Llttlejohn and Mrs.
R. B. Osborne assisted in passing
salted nuts and mint candies. Mrs.
C, J. Gault, Jr., cut and served
the wedding cake after the couple
had cut the traditional first-piece.
Miss Pashla Wright presided at
thfe punch bowl, which was cen
tered On a small table. Decora
tions of ivy, fern, and carnations
were used around the punch bowl
base.
Miss Wright gave her brides
maid attendants a token-gift of
necklaces and pearl earrings,
which they addted to their cos
tume, for the wedding Sunday af
ternoon. - ?
The bride-elect wore a* party
street - length dress of gold cop
per-taffeta with rhlnestone neck
lace and fear-ring accessories.
Members of the wedding party,
the immediate, families, and in
vited guests made up the party
list.

Monday night with Mrs. David N.
Morris as hostess.
Mrs. Sam Hughes presented a
devotional after an introductory
meditation read by Mrs. Morris,
the hostess, and a group song,
"I Heard the Bells On Christmas
Day."
Mrs. George Thornburg, pro
gram chairman for December,
presented the program entitled,
"The Gift of God's Love". Assist
ing her in the program were Mrs.
Norman Davis, Mrs. Dewey Sty
ers, Mrs. Herbert Dover, Mrs.
Randy Blanton, Mrs. Robert
Grigg, Jr., and Mrs. D. N. Morris.
Seven members of the circle at
tended. Mrs. Sam Hughes and
Mrs. J. H. Carroll were welcomed
as visitors.
Following the business session,
a social hour was enjoyed and re
freshments were served.

meeting Monday night with Mrs.
P. L. Shore, Jr., as hostess at her

The meeting was opened with
a period of silent prayer. Mrs.
Edith Goforth led in the devo
tion0.! - meditation, reading the
Ohri&cmas story from St Luke's
gospel.
Mrs. James Dickey, program
chairman for December, read
three Christmas stories, "The
Christmas Candle," "The Story
of the Christmas Bells," and
"The Birth of Christ."
A nativity scene had been set
up in the Shore llvingroom and
the program centered around the
Christmas story
During the business session
Miss Marion Arthur gave a re
port on the sending of gifts from
the circle to needy families of
the community, Gifts, toys, and
clothing were brought to the
meeting by each member.
The meeting was adjourned
by group prayer in unison. Fol
lowing the business session, a
social hour was enjoyed and re
freshments were served.

of the groom, attended the bride
as matron-of-honor, and Garvis
Ross, of Kings Mountain, attend
ed his brother as best-man.
The bride was dressed In a
white woolen suit, felt trimmed,
with black and grey accessories
and a rfed shoulder corsage of
carnations.
Mrs. Ross, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. C. Turner of Kings Moun
tain, 1r a senior student at Beth
ware high ? school. The bride
groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. J, L.
Ross, is also a member of the
senior class at Bethware high
school here.

Mrs. Gall McDanlel gave a de
votional at the beginning of the
meeting and Mrs. G.C. Kelly, pro
gram chairman for the month,
gave the program entitled, "Gra
cious Gifts Are Given."
Sixteen members attended the
meeting. Mrs. Peele, circle chair
man, presided over the business
session.
After the meeting, a social hour
was tnjoyed and refreshment
plates were passed.

Wright, Mrs. R. L. Hardin and
Miss Dutch Clonlnger. Mrs. Beck

Garden club teams had arrang

and dining room table and mem
bers judged the arrangements.
Mrs. H. C. Mayes, president,
opened the business session and
presided over . the meeting. Fol
lowing the business session, the
hostess was assisted in passing a
salad course with dessert and
coffee.

ployee, who had been In ill health,
