First Presbyterian CHURCH NEWS Brownie Scouts met In the Scout Hut last Wednesday at 3:30. Mrs. A. K. Walker and Mrs. G. L. McDaniel are the leaders. They sang some of the Scout songs and planned their work for their fu ture. This is a newly organized troop. Cherub Choir met for an orga nizational meeting Saturday mor ning. Mrs. Hazel Lane Is the choir mother, Miss Butch Houser the accompanist - secretary, and Miss Huneycutt is the director. This choir is for all children agtes six through eight, and will meet each Saturday morning at 10:00 a. m Intermediate Girls Auxiliary and Royal Ambassadors met M the church last Thursday night to study "The World in Her Hands." Miss Huneycutt led the study and afterwards the group went out for hot dogs served by the sponsoring W. M. S. circles. Business Womens Federation of Kings Mountain Association was held at the Second Baptist church in Shelby on Tuesday night. Milk: keep fresh milk tightly covered and under refrigeration. Dry and evaporated milk in cans should be kept in a cool, dry place. After it is opened dry milk should be kept in a tightly-cover fed container in the refrigerator. Eggs: keep in a covered con tainer under refrigeration. Never wash eggs untli Just before using. If only the yolk of the egg is us ed, keep the remaining white in a tightly-covered container. If on ly the white is used, put the yplk in a container and cover with wa ter to keep it from drying. Cheese: keep hard cheese in a tight container or wrapped in waxed paper in the refrigerator. Slice aa needed. Cottage cheese and cream absorb flavors readily, and should be kept tightly cover ed under refrigeration. Fruits and Vegetables: store greens and salad vegetables (un washed) and refrigerate in coy eitsd pans or waterproof bags. Keep ripe fruits like peaches, pliyns and berries refrigerated and unwashed until ready to use. Foods likv peaches, pears, and to matoes may be ripened at room temperature and then stored in the refrigerator. Keep potatoes and cabbage in a dark, cool place. at\d well ventilated.
