For Job With Foote
Tommy Owens, city utilities
clerk, is resigning his position
and on Monday will assume the
duties of assistant to the pur
chasing agent at Foote Mineral
Company.
He re-joined the City last
June alter a previous tour of six
months following his graduation
from Kings Mountain high
i school in 1951. He attended Gull
ford College and Appalachian
State Teachers College during
the interim period.

Schools To Receive
$42,832 From Bonds
Kings Mountain city schools
district will receive,. $42,632.97 as
Its part of the first half division
of the $50 million in state school
bonds voted last year.
The other $25 million is to be
divided as follows: $15 million
on the basis of school population
and $10 million equally between
the state's 100 counties.
Of North Carolina's 288,508
farms, 25.1 per cent are operated
by non-whites. .
