Qrzabeth Stewart, Editor Miss Nan Jean Gantt Presented In Recital Miss Nan Jean Gantt, student at the Plonk School of Creative Art* jn Ashevllle, was presented in a dramatic recital of 'The Swan" by Ferenc Molnar at the school Tuesday evening at-8 o' clock. She gave character Impersona tions of Dr. Nicholas Agi, George, Arscne, Princess Beatrice, Alex, andra, Father Hyacinth, Sympho. ?osa. Prince Albert, Colonel Wun ;rljek, Count Lutzen, Caesar, a ?aid, and Princess Maria Domi ?ca In the three-act drama. Miss Gantt was assisted at the tano by Miss Sally MacRae Who played two selections by Chopin, "Fantasie" ? ' Impromptu ? and "Ballade No. t" Hostesses were Miss I-.aura Plonk and Miss Lillian Plonk, di rectors. Miss. Nancy Plonk, Mile. Therese Collet, Mrs. John Stev ens, and Mrs. W. M. Gantt. Ushers were Jim Hamilton. Charles Hart, Aaron PiUillo, and Nelle Mauney. Mr. and Mrs. Gantt, R. G. Plonk, and Miss Rachel Plonk of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Joe Mauney of Forest City attended the recital. American Home Department Held Meeting Here Monday Members of the American Home and Education Department of Kings Mountain '.Roman's club held their last meeting of the club year at the Woman's clubhouse Monday evening. Peggy Wren Craig, winnter of the Baker reading medal in the elementary schools, and Sandy Campbell, winner of the Neisler l medal in the elementary school system, gave their readings. "Ma Takes A Chance" was read by Peggy Craig, and Sandy Camp bell gave a reading of "The Grea test Battle Ever Won." Both are students at West school. ? Mrs. R. D. Arrowood, chairman presided over the meeting, and a memorial to the. late Mrs. H. N. Moss, who was a member of the department, was read. A copy of the memorial wag written into the minutes. Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. CX D. Blanton, Mrs. J. C. McKlnney, Mrs. E. H. Crouch, and Mrs. W. M. Moorfiead, and they served iced drinks with sandwiches and homemade cook ies. Temple Baptist WMS Heard Guest Speaker Members of the Woman's Mis sionary Society of Temple Bap tist church met Tuesday evening for their general meeting. Guest speaker for the meeting was Fouid Socconine, of Pales tint, who graduated from Gard ner-Webb Junior College at Boil ing Springs this year. Mr. Soc conine expects to return to Pales tine on June 26. He spoke on "Missionary Work in Palestine" and was introduced by Mrs. Herbert Dover, WMS president. Fletcher School Opens Here June 3 The Fletcher School of Dancing will offer classes here in tap, bal let, and acrobatics June 3 with registration to be held June 2, ac cording to announcement by Mrs, Lou Lovelace of Shelby, director. Registration will begin at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, and classes will begin June 3 at the Kings Mountain Recreation Cen ter, Mrs. Lovelace said. Mrs. H. C.
