At After-Rehearsal Party

tertained Friday evening at the
home of the former In Waco at |
an after-rehearsal party for the
Poston-Tate wedding party.
The bride-etect wore a strapless
gown of Alice blue taffet^i and
nylon net and a red rosebud cor
sage.
A blm taffeta clotli overlaid
with u cloth of white organdy
covered the refreshment table,
and the white wedding cake serv
ed as the centerpiece. White flow
er petals and fern lined the len
gth of the table, and a punch
service, garlanded with flower
petals, was set at the opposite
end.
Mrs. Bill Putnam cut and serv
ed the wedding cake after the )
couple had cut the first-piece, and
Mrs. Roberson poured punch.

eluded members of the wedding j
party, the two families, and close
friends of the couple.

church met Saturday evening at
the home of Mrs. Nevette Hughes.

Dixon and First Presbyterian

After the program, which was
also conducted by Mrs. Patrick,
a social hour was enjoyed and
the hostess, assisted by he*- dau

freshments.

In Formal Ceremony At Shelby Church

Saturday evening at 7:30 before
the altar x of Elizabeth Baptist
church of Shelby.
Dr. Zeno Wall, minister of the
church, officiated, using the dou
ble ring ritual, and peaked cande
labra holding white lighted tap
ters interspersed with 3 sunburst
of white gladioli, palms, and
greenery, provided altar decora
tion.
Mrs. Kemp Huss of Lincolnton,
organist, and Mrs. Ernest Beam
of Shelby, soloist, presented a
program of wedding music Or
gan program before the ceremony
included, "Moonlight Sonato", "To
A Wild Roste", and "O Perfect
Love". As vows were exchanged,
the organist played, 'Claire de
Lune" by deBussy.
Vocal selections Included, "In
dian Love Call", and "Because", ,
and as a benediction after vows J
had feteen said, "The Lord's Pray- 1
er" by Malotte.
Given- in marriage by her bro
ther, Curtis McBride Poston, the
bride wore a white wedding gown
of Rose chantilly lace over bridal
satin. The sweetheart neckllnte of
the gown was banded with self
applique, and the long lac* sleev
es were caught tight at the wrists
with buttons, and extended to
form calia points at thfe hands.
The molded bodice was edged
with hand-dipped design and was
accented by a full (iklrt, falling In
folds to the floor where the layers
ended in bands of permanently
pleated nylon tullte, the top tier
sweeping up in back to forgn a
bustle effect; the other layer
sweeping into a brief, stand-up
train.
Her waist veiling of sheer illu
sloo fell from a fllllgree clrcfet of
pearl-studded satin piping, the
veiling also starred with pearls,
and >he carried a white Bible
topped with an orchid and atep
hanotls and showered with white
ribbons. Her only ornament was
a slngfe strand of pearls, a gift
from the groom.
'Mrs. Wood B. Rawles of Shelby
was the bride's ma tron-of -honor,
and bridesmaids v,ere two of her
sisters, Mrs. Billy R. Putnam of
Shelby and Mr*, George W. Ro
berson of Raleigh, Mrs. Jolly
Duncan of Nebo, sister of the
groom, and Miss Bonnie Byers.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Grady Poston of Shel
by, was graduated from Number
Threte high school and Howard's
Business college at Shelby, where
she was a member of Alpha Iota
Business sorority, serving as pre
sident her senior year. She is em
ployed as bookkeeper at Young
Brothers in Shelby.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland
Clifton Tate of G rover, the
groom was graduated from Gro
ver high school and' Mars HIM
Junior college and completed
four years service with the navy
in June. He plans to enter Limb
stone college at Gaffney, S. C.,
In September where be will study
pharmacy.
After their wedding trip, the
couple will be at homfe temporari
ly with the groom's parents in
Graver.
