^ J(<<< ft/ Elizabeth ? Stewart, Editor Mrs. J. G. Darracott Circle Hostess Thursday CLrcle II of Dixon Presbyterian church met Thursday night at the home of Mrs. J. G. Darracott. Mrs. Erwin Hughes, circle chairman, called the meeting to order and presided over the busi ness session, and Mrs. Darracott, Bible leader, presented the Bible Study, which was entitled, "The Jerusalem Council". Six circle members attended: During the social hour, the hos tess served peach ice cream with cakte and cookies. Arrangements of summer flowers decorated the home. Junior Woman's Club Plan Cake Sale Saturday Members of the Junior Wo man's club, their husbands, and families held a family picnic sup per meeting at Lake Montonia last Tuesday, evening, August 2. Supper was served at 7 o'clock, and hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. G. C. Yelton and Mrs. Buford Ware. The club, at the meeting, com pleted plans for a cake sale to be conducted (}t C. E. Warlick In surance Agency Saturday, with the sale to begin at 9:30. Junior club womten meet mon thly on each first Monday even ing at the Woman's clubhouse. Grace Methodist WSCS Held Supper Meeting Members of the Women's So ciety of Christian Service of Grace Methodist church, their husbands, and families held a pic nic supper meeting at the city picnic area Wednesday evening. It was the regular metetlng of the society and some twenty members of the group attended. Supper was served buffet style from the dining room table, which was covered with a white linen cloth and decorated with a wedding slipper and candles with Ivy. Thirty guests attended, the par ty in addition to the couple and the bridfe-elect'g mother, Mrs. B. O. Starnes, of Shelby. Lottie Blalock Circle Held Meeting Saturday Lottie Blalock circle mtembers of Bethlehepi Baptist church met Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. N. E. Morris. Mrs. Charlie Spearman, pro gram chairman, was in charge of a program for the meeting, and Miss Piccola Blalock and Mrs. Hill Lowery assisted on the pro gram. . Mrs. Morris, circle chairman, presided over the business ses sion. The hostess served ice cream and cake during the social hour following the meeting. Miss Nancy Huffman Honored On Birthday Miss Nancy Huffman was hon ored on the anniversary of her, 16th birthday at a surprise party at her home Saturday evening. Games were directed through out the evening, and refresh: ments of sandwiches, potato chips, cookies, and . cold drinks were served by Miss Grace Logan and Miss Gloria Huffman. Fifteen guests attended the party. Miss Betty McDaniel Celebrates Birthday Mrs. D. P. McDaniel entertain ed Monday evening at her home on Stone street at a surprise birthday party complimenting her daiighter, Miss Betty Mc Daniel, who was celebrating her 16th birthday anniversary. Games were played throughout the evening, and refreshments of cake, cookies, potato chips, and cold drinks were served.
