George Members of the congregation were givten the. opportunity to hear Miss Melba Tindall and Miss Evelyn Cllne sing a duet last Sunday. The regular Union Service was held last Sunday night at the Resurrection Lutheran church. The address was given hy Rever end P. L. Shore, Jr., pastor of the Central Methodist church. A large number of people in the commu nity attended. A new circle has been organised by the Women of the Church. Be cause of a large membership, Cir cle number two has been formed with Mrs. C. Q. Rhyne as tempo rary chairman. This circle will mteet In the afternoon of the Mon days following each second Sun day of the months. Circle No. 1 held its regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Eugene Gladden. Kenneth Hardin presented an interesting program. During thte business ses sion of the meeting, It was es tablished that Mrs. C. Q. Rhyne would be the delegate to * the State Convention for Lutheran Women at Hickory, N. C. Mrs. Paul McGinnls plans to attend this convention also, as a visitor. Also newly organized is a chil. drten's choir . which consists of children from age seven to thir teen. This choir meets every Wed nesday afternoon at 4:00 and is directed by Pastor Fritz. The Board of American Mis sions has requested a story and pictures about the installation of the new chimes. This information will be published by the Mission Board. This week Pastor Fritz is teach ing each evening the senior class of the Central Methodist church. His theme is entitled "What I Believe." Regular Sunday morning ser vices will begin this Sunday 'at eleven o'clock. Pastor Fritz will conduct the service, preaching on the subject, "A Higher Wisdom." Everyone is urged to attend. A congregational meeting will take place after the service to dis cuss plans for the groundwork of the new parsonage which will be started in the near future. Union Service will He held at the First Presbyterian church with Pastor Fritz Speaking. His subject, scheduled to be given at this eight o'clock service, will be "Forgotten Concept". Members of the Brothterhood ?' will meet at the church this com ing Sunday at 6:30. All men plan to attend. Ollie Harris will be the speaker. - Next week. Pastor Fritz and his family will be on vacation. /? Central Methodist CHURCH NEWS By Mrs. Baxter Payseur Youth Activities Week is now in progress at Central Methodist church and two evenings remain All young people between the ages of 12-23, are invited. Among the events of the week were a pa nel program, "I'vte Got a Secret" conducted for recreation on Sun day evening, when* over sixty young people were present. The group attended the Union Service at Resurrection Lutheran church, where Rev. Phil Shore, Jr., de livered the message. On Monday evening, a wiener roast and Gall lean Service were held at Lakte Montonla, with a worship pro gram presented from a boat. The group returned to the church for discussion group*, followed Jay re creation. Rev. Ralph Kayler, Assistant Minister of Dilworth Methodist church, Charlotte, delivered the messagn Sunday morning, while Rev. f*hil Shore delivered the ittMtage at the church there. Organist for morning worship Sunday was Shirley Falls. Circle 1 has charge of the Nur sery this month. The R tor. E. W.
