SUPERSTITIONS THOSE BLACK CATSH Cats, black and otherwise, have awed, mystified and scared mankind for thousands of years. Considered "lucky” toy some, “unlucky” by others, ancient Egyptians thought them sacred, decreed instant death to the killer of a catll Our fairly recent superstition dates from 200 years ago when most people believed in witches and witchcraft. It was then believed that witches could change themselves into cats — usually black cats; and a cat crossing your path, again a black one, might well be a witch in disguise!! Hey Pardners! You can "hold up" any witches that might be around with a pair of those 9 inch Hopalong Cassidy cap pistols (With fine leather belt) you can get by saving panels, sides, tops, from Sunrise Dairy milk and milk products containers.
