Baptists Planning Special Service; Shiloh Women To Hold Study Course By Mrs. M. C. Hardin Telephone Grover 3242 GROVER—The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observ ed next Sunday January 29, at the First Baptist church. The Session of Shiloh Presby terian church will hold Its regu lar monthly meeting Thursday evening at the manse. A special series of studies on the world mission theme; “The Christian Mission In a Revolu tionary World’’ under the spon sorship of the Women of Shiloh Church, beginning Sunday. It will consist of six studies which will be held on the following dates: Sunday evening Jan., 29; Feb., 5, 12, 19; Wednesday evening Fed., 15, and 22. At the winter meeting of Kings Mountain Presbytery last week Elder Paul Hambright was elect ed to be one of the six commis sioners to represent Kings Moun tain Presbytery at the meeting of the General Assembly in May Prayer meeting for five weeks at the First Baptist church will be a study course on the Sermon on the Mount, taught by the pas tor, Rev. W. F. Monroe. The clown basketball game Saturday evening in the school gym between Grover Lions Club and Blacksburg Firemen was well attended. Proceeds went for the March of Dimes. Miss Ethel Martin and brothers Brady and Carely Martin are spending ten days in Florida. They will return home the mid., die of this week. Mrs. Hubert Rollins, Mrs. S. A. Crisp, Miss Marjorie Crisp and two of Miss Crisp’s friends from Wake Forest recently returned from a tour of Florida. Misses Sally Davis and Mary Louise Ellis of Charlotte spent the weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Davis, and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Ellis. Miss Betty Watterson a student nurse at the Shelby hospital spent the weekend with her parents Mr, and Mrs. Andrew Watterson. Mrs. T. S. Keeter spent two days in the Memorial hospital last week for treatment. Mrs. Darwin Earl is in the Kings Mountain hospital for ob servation and treatment. Mrs. Frank Hambright return ed from the Kings Mountain hos pital to her home on Battleground road on Monday. Jean Allen a student at W.C. T.C., Cullowhee, spent from Wed nesday until Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Allen, Phil Gold of North Greenville, S. C., Junior college spent the weekend at home with his parent Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Gold. Scott Wright of Clemson spenl from Thursday until Sunday with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Stough Wright. Arthur Davis went to Lees-Mc Rae college and brought Misses Ann Davis, Faye Houser and Sue Keeter home for the weekend. R. B. Keeter took them back to college on Monday. We played Freeze-Tag until the meet ing was called to order by Mary Wright, President. Then we each had a cup of cocoa with two marshmellows in it. We then made our sock dolls and most of us got as far as making the body and cutting the legs. Then the meeting was adjourned by the President and we had our good bye circle and went home.
