Traditional bridal colors pro vided decoration throughout the house while the refreshment ta-1 ble held an arrangement of red and white japcnica. Green and white cookies and iced cakes were served with coffee. Mrs. Ned Beam and Mrs. L W. London assisted the hostesses in receiving and entertaining Miss Hobbs wore a two-pi'ece blue dress with a white carnation corsage, gift of the hostesses. Miss Hobbs Is Honored At Tea In Cherryville Mrs. Robert Gurley, Mrs. Lewis Doggett, and Mrs. Roland Fergu son, all of Cherryville, entertain ed Saturday, March 17, at the Gurley home at a tea complimen ting Miss J&net Louise Hobbs, bride-elect. The wedding of Miss Hobbs and Dr. L. T. Anderson, of Kings Mountain, will be an event of Thursday (tonight) in First Bap tist church, Cherryville. A color note of pink and white was observed in room decora tions. In the dining room, an em broidered linen cloth covered the refreshment table which held an arrangement of snapdragons, pink carnations, and gypsop lia flanked by pink tapers in silver candelabras. Mrs. Howard K. Houser and Mrs. R. H. McDowell, of Belmont served tea, and Misses Patricia Farris and Linda Chastain served pink and white cakes, white block ice cream, and nuts Mrs. Ben R. Rudisill welcomed callers and presented them to the receiving line which included the honoree and her mother, Mrs. J. D. Hobbs, the hostesses, Mrs. J. R. Putnam, Mrs. Gene Hend rick, of Monroe, Mrs. Berge Beam Jr., of Crouse, Mrs. Robert Rhodes, of Lincolnton, and Mrs. W. C. Lamb Mrs. Evelyn Shivies and Mrs. Bill Houser received in the dining room, and Mrs. L. C. McDowell received in the den. Mrs. W, P. Fitzhugh directed callers to the music room where Mrs. H. H. Al len and Mrs. Robert Boggs re ceived and entertained. Mrs. El der Eaker and Mrs. Emmbtt Hou ser presided at the register, and goodbyes were said to Mrs. James L. 'Putnam, Jr., and Mrs. W. H. Houster, Sr. Miss Hobbs wore an aqua cock tail dress with a corsage of silver ed pink carnations. Two-hundred guests called be tween the hours of four and six o’clock. Mr and Mrs. Pride Ratterree and daughters, Ruth and Martha, of Wake Forest, were weekend guests here of Mr. Ratterree’s mother, Mrs. P. G- Ratterree. Young Martha Pitts Ratterree, agle six months, was christened Sunday morning at worship ser vices at Boyce Memorial ARP church. MRS. Miss Davis sang, “I Love Thee.” “Because,” and "If I Could Tell You.” As a benedic tion she sang, “We Walk With God." Traditional marches by Wagner and Mendelssohn were used for processional and reces sional music. The bride was given in mar riage. by her maternal grandfath er, John Lloyd Rhinehardt. Her wedding dress, of candlelight or ganzine taffeta, was fashioned with fitted bodice, long sleeves which tapered to points over the wrists, and a bouffant floor length skirt that ended in a cha pel-length train. Her fingertip silk illusion veil was attached to a crown of alencon lace embroid ered in iridescent sequins and seed pearls. She carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid showered with valley lilies and satin streamers. Mrs. Ben Hudson, of Kings Mountain, was matron of honor, and Miss Nelle Mauney, sister of the bride, was maid of honor Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Hamrick, of Cliffside, and Mrs. T. J. Madison, of Winston-Salem. Attendants wore ballerina, length dresses fashioned along princess lines with cap sleeves and square necklines. The gowns of nille green crystalette featured a flared skirt accented by little self bows around the hipline. They wore headpieces of nile grleen shells of nylon tulle trim med with rosebuds and flirtation veils. They carried cascade bou quets of yellow garza poms. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Mary Lois Ridings, of Wins ton Salem, Miss Martha Harrill, of Laurinburg, and Mrs. Ben Wall, Jr., of Ruthterfordton. Cynthia Dell Rhinehardt, of Durham, cousin of the bride, was ring-bearer. J<?hn V. Blackwell, Jr., of Fay etteville, was best man for Mr. Moses, and ushers included Char les F. Mauney, of Kings Moun tain, Hugh M. Wilson, Jr. of Rutherfordton, Lt. Floyd K. Rec. tor, of Fort Bragg, and James H. Woodhouse, of Raeford. Acolytes were John L. Rhine hardt, HI, of Charlotte, and James Berry Rhinehardt, of Winnsboro, S. C. The bride’s mother wore a mauve lace dress over taffeta with navy accessories and a white orchid shoulder corsage. The groom’s mother wore a Dior blue lace dress with matching acces sories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. J. L. Rhinehardt, maternal grandmother of the bride, wore a blue linen dress with black ac cessories and a corsage of red roses. The bride’s mother entertain ed at a reception following the ceremony at the Spindale Com munity House. A color note of green and white was used in table and room decorations. A white linen cutwork cloth covered the bride’s table which held an arrangement of white snapdragons, babyls breath, and fern flanked by white tapers in silver candelabras. Receiving were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dalton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Deviney, Mrs. Harriette Mauney, Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Mrs. Moses was graduated from Rutherfordton - Spindale high school and is a senior at Wake Forest college where she is a member of the student legis lature, a member of Tassels, hono rary leadership sorority, and pre sident of Delta Kappa Mu, busi ness sorority. She was a debu tante at the 1952 debutante ball in Shelby. Mr. Moses, son of Judge and Mrs. Talmadge Owen Moses, of Raeford, was graduated from Hoke county schools, Wake For est college, and received his LLD degree from the law school of Wake Forest where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Phi Delta Phi legal frater nities, member of the student council, president of the student bar association, and was listed in Who’s Who in American Col leges and Universities. For traveling, Mrs. Moses wore a white wool sheath dress and jacket with blue accessories and the orchid from her bridal bou quet. The couple will reside in Rae ford where Mr. Moses is a practic ing attorney. Attending the wtedding from Kings Mountain were Mr. and Mrs. George Houser and daugh ter, Beth, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mau ney, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mau nley, Miss Lynn Wagner, Mrs. G. E, Still. R. L. Miss Shirley Falls, student at Woman’s college, Greensboro, spent the weekend here with her parents, Mr- and Mrs. Oliver Falls. Miss Pat Owens, student at Baptist Hospital School of Nurs ing, Winston-Salem, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs Paul Owens Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carroll and son, Edwin, of Dover, Del-, are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs- Walter Farris here, and Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Carroll and family in Kings Creek, S.
