Grace Methodist church elected
new officters at the regular meet
ing of the organization Tuesday
night.

Huffstetler, stecretary, Miss Mar
garet Huffstetler, treasurer, Mrs.
James Jonas, chairman of the
flower fund committee, and Mrs.
Buddy Fletchter, promotional sec

Mrs. Furman Wilson and Mrs.
Bill Jonas were co-hostesses for
the meeting at the Wilson home
on Linwood drive.
Mrs. Jonas gave thte devotional,
“Christian Discipleship Today”
and offered prayer. Mrs. Carl
Price, program chairman, led the
program subject, "Witnessing At
Daily Work,” assisted by Mrs.
Buddy Fletcher who gavfe the
readings, “Crossing the River,”
“African Bible Woman,” and
“Calling to Fulfill.”
The group sang the hymn,
“Work for the Night Is Coming”
and the guild song.

at a church service in April.

Girl Scout Workers
To Convene In Columbia
Thte spring meeting of the Na
tional Association of Girl Scout
Professional Workers will be
held in Columbia, S. C., Friday
and Saturday. This meeting will
bring together professional work
ers from four states, Florida,
Georgia, North Carolina and
South Carolina.
The purposte of this organiza
tion is to provide an opportunity
for Girl Scouts professional work
ers to develop a high standard
of staff service to the Girl Scout
movement in their communities.
Mtembership in the association is
open to qualified Girl Scout pro
fessional workers.
The Special study at the meet
ing will be “Recruitment - Profes
sionals and Volunteers.” Dr. Har
old D. Meyer, professor of socio
logy at the University of North
Carolina and consultant for the
North Carolina recrteation com
mission, will be the workshop di
rector. __ .
Miss Rosemary Crook, presi
dent of Section 6, AGSPW, will
preside at the business stessions
of the organization. Miss Crook
is the executive director of the
Girl Scout council of Eastern
Gteorgia in Agusta, Ga.
The Pioneer council of Girl
Scouts will be represented at this
meeting by Misses Kathryn Love
and Martha Ltee Lucas.

mer City Woman’s club at the
Woman’s clubhouse in Bessemer
City.
Mrs. R. Lee Lewis, general
chairman of the show, announced
that the show will be open to the
public from 1 o’clock until 9
o’clock p. m. ntext Thursday
night. Admission is 50 cents for
adults and 10 cents for children.
Entries are being invited in the
flower arrangements, horticul
ture, annuals, biennials and pe
rennials,- camellias, and education
and conservation division of the
show.
Horticulture exhibits are open
to anyone, and all exhibits in hor
ticultural classes must be grown
by exhibitor and labeled if pos
sible. Potted plants must have
