Wesleyan Service Guild
Held Regular Meeting
The Wesleyan Service Guild of
Grace Methodist church held its
regular meeting Monday night at
the home of Misses Jessie and
Loraine Jonas.
Miss Jessie Jonas had the devo
tional before the program, “Scat
ter Seeds In Brazil” by Mrs. Bill
Jonas, Mrs. James Jonas and
Mrs. Andy Huffstetler. Thte group
sang the guild hymn, “O Zion
Haste,” and "Are Ye Able?”.
Members voted to hold a family
picnic at the city picnic area in
August. Mrs, Bill Jonas, vice
chairman, conducted the business
meeting.
The hostesses served fruit sa
lad, cake, and punch before the
guild benediction repeated by the
members.

To Take Place Saturday
The wedding of Miss Suzanne
Walker Logan, of Shelby, and
Thomas Leard Keeter, of Gro
ver, will take place Saturday
evening at 7:30 o’clock in Shel
by’s First Baptist church.
Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Lo
gan, parents of Miss Logan, will
entertain at a reception follow
ing the ceremony in the church
parlor.

Mrs. Eugene Roberts conducted
the study course before the busi
ness session led by Mrs. Isaac
McGill, circle chairman. Mrs. Jo
nah Thomasson and Mrs. Fred
Ruth, the latter president of the
Woman’s Missionary Society of
the church, were visitors.
The circle is using as a study
course the book, “Sacrifice and
Song,” a missionary book by
Mrs. Foy Johnson Farmer, of
Raleigh.

Held Tuesday Meeting
The Ruzanna circle of Grace
Methodist church held its regu
lar meeting Tuesday morning at
the church and heard a missions
p rogram by Mrs. Carrie Gantt.

Held Meeting Monday
Circle 6 of Central Methodist
church held its regular meeting
Monday night at the home of
Mrs. M. H. Biser on Gold street.
Eleven members attended.
Mrs. Paul Briggs had the devo
tional before the program by

Mrs. Y. F. Throneburg, circle
chairman, conducted the business
session.
A social hour was held and re
freshments were served.

Celebrates Birthday
Evonne Falls celebrated her
tenth birthday July 6th at a
birthday party given by her pa
rents, Mr. send Mrs. Doytt Falls.
Games were played on the lawvi
before gifts were opened by the
honoree. She received a variety
of useful gifts from the 23 guests
who attended.
Mrs. Harold Falls and Mrs.
Fred Kiser assisted Mrs. Falls
