Senatpr Sam Ervin said in a statement that he believes that the Pearsall Plan is the best one thus far advanced for the pre. servatfon of North Carolina’s public schools. He and Governor Hodges will appear publicly in Charlotte next Monday in behalf of the amendment. Blalock Rites on Friday Funeral services were held Friday aftertioon at 3 o’clock at Bethlehem Baptist Church for John Pinkney Blalock, 87, who died at his home, route 2, Kings Mountain, Thursday following an fitness of two years. A native of Cleveland County, Mr. Blalock was a prominent farmer of this' area. He was the sori of t'he late Mr. and Mrs. John Blalock. He was a former deacon of Bethlehem Baptist church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lottie Handle Blalock; seven daughters, Mrs. G. R. Dixon, Mrs. Lee Yartiro, Miss Picolla Blalock, and Mrs, Hal Morris, all of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Lois Bookout of Gastonia, Mrs. Lalyage Hord of Shelby, and Mrs. Beck Wright of Grover; two brothers, T. D. and L, G. Blalock, both of Kings Mountain; 13 grandchildren, and 13 greatgrandchildren A son, Thomas Blalock died in’1928 as a result of World War I injuries. The. Rev. R. E. Robbins, and the Rev. W. G, Camp officiated. Burial was in Bethlehem Ceme tery Pallbearers were Charles W. Lail. Charles A. Spearman, Char les E. Spearman, Paul Lancaster, Homer Pheagin, anti Herman Blalock. Camp Services Held On Friday Funeral rites were held Friday at 4 p. m at Faith Baptist church for James Albert Camp, 43, of 21 Bennett Drive, who died sud denly pn his farm in the Oak Grove community Wednesday. Mr. Camp was a native of Cle veland County, and the son of T. P. Camp of Kings Mountain and the late Mrs. Jennie Patterson Camp. Survivors, other than his fath er, include his wife, Mrs Louise Capps Camp; two sons, Kenneth Camp and Jackie Camp, both of the U. S, Army; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Long of Cherryville- four brothers, Joe Camp of Shelby, Lem, C. F., and Matthew Camp, all of Kings Mountain; and two grandchildren. ■ Mr. Camp was a World War II veteran, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist church The Rev.
