information on hospitalization in
surance coverage, use of hospi
tal facilities and related data will
be asked in the September Cur
rent Population Survey, accord
ing to Supervisor Joseph R. Nor.
wood of the Census Bureau’s dis
trict office at Charlotte which
will participate in the survey.
The special questions are be
ing asked at the request of the
United States Public Health Ser
vice to obtain facts for use in
planning for future hospital faci
lities to meet the needs of the
Nation’s steadily increasing popu
lation and to determine methods
used in financing hospital care.
The survey will provide informa'
tion on the number of people
covered by hospitalization insu
rance, types of service covered
such as hospital care, surgeons’
fees, etc., the number of people
who were hospitalized during the
12 months ending September 15
and related data.
The special hospitalization
questions will be in addition to
the regular inquiries on employ,
ment and unemployment askted
each month in the Current Popu
lation Survey which will be con
ducted locally and in 329 other
sections of the country during the
wetek of September 17. Informa -
tion will be collected locally by
Mrs. Frances C. Hedden. -

vember 17th for a 13-day cruise to
the West Indies. The voyage, a
post-graduate medical seminar

ty of Pennsylvania school of me
dicine, will take the convention

and San Juan.
This is the third year that the
Stockholm has bieen chartered by
the Allen Travel Service of New
Sfork for fall cruises from N. C.
ports and the popularity of these
cruises is best evidenced in the
nickname, "The Belle of North
Carolina,” by which the Stock
holm now is known in the South.
During the convention cruise,
regular meetings and lectures
will be held on board.

day after a visit with her sister
in New York City .She was ac
companied home by her daughter,
Virginia, who spent the suimnfer
in New York.

tives.

James Jackson, the former is the
son of Mrs Maggie Jackson of
Gretensboro, visited relatives. It
was a family reunion with dinner
served at Mrs. Mattie Taylor's,
one of the oldest of ihe Taylor fa
mily, and Mrs. Maggie Bess’
home. An old time prayer service
was held. They also visited, Mrs.
Bertha Rice, Mrs. Blanch Taylor,
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Taylor. Their
visitors were brothers and sisters
of Rev. Lawrence Taylor of San
ford, N. C.
Funeral service for Mrs. Mar
tha Huitt, 35, resident of route 1
was conducted Wednesday at 2
jp. m. from Clover Zion Metho
dist church with interment f61
lowing in the church cemetery.
Rev. B, O. McCaskit officiated.
Mrs. Huitt, native of York coun
ty, died at he rhome Sunday at
6 o’clock. She was a member of
Clover Zion Methodist church.
Surviving are her husband, Tom
Huitt; two sons, Tom and Perry,
four daughters, Delcine, Naomi,
Frances, and Mary Lee all of the
home, two sisters Mrs. Lula Mc
Fadein and Mrs. Frances Floyd,
and four brothers, Will Adams,
Robert Adams, both of Clover, S.
C„ George Adams, of Lincoln
Academy, and Neal Adams, of
Gastonia.
Funeral rites for Joel C. Mar
ble, Jr., five-day-old son of Mr.
and Mrs, Joel C. Marble, Sr.,
I were held Saturday at Bynum
l Chapel church cemetery.
! The child died at Kings Moun
tain Hospital at 12 noon Satur

The dairy industry of North
Carolina will be featured at the
1956 N. C. State Fair, according
to Dr. J. W. Pnu, head of the ani
mal industry department at
North Carolina State College. He
states that the theme will be
“Norh Carolina Dairying on Pa
rade” and he slogan will be “Re
fresh naturally with Milk and
Dairy Products.”'

Rudisill Rites
Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Fan
nie Jane Fails Rudisill, 84 of
Cherryville, were held Wednes
day afternoon at St. Mark’s Lu
theran church.
• Mrs. Rudisill, widow of Martin
L. Rudisill, was a daughter of
this late Mr. and Mrs. Reid Falls,
of Kings Mountain.
She was a great-aunt of Mrs.
Jacob Cooper, and a first cousin
of M. L. Harmon, Mrs. T. P Mc
Gill and Mrs. Minnie H. Craw
ford, all of Kings Mountain.
Mrs. Rudisill died Monday af
ternoon. She suffered a stroke
of paralysis Sunday, following a
long illness. She was a member
of St Mark’s church.
Funferal rites were conducted
by the pastor, Rev. L. S. Miller.

Lions Entertained

Members of the Kings Moun
tain Lions club heard a musical
variety program Tuesday night,
as presented by Joe Franklin and
his organization.
The six-piece group included a
pianist, trumpeter, three guitar
ists, and violinist. Feature of the
program were imitations by one
of the group.
Franklin’s show is being presen
ted via television in Bristol, Tenn.

Fathei Dies
Funeral rites were held in
Waynesville Tuesday for William
Allen Price, 09, father of Mrs.
Woodrow England, of Kings
Mountain.
Mr. Price became ill while vir
siting a sister in Gastonia and
succumbed to a heart attack at
Garrison hospital Sunday at 7
P. m.
He was a Haywood county na
tive and lived in Waynesville.
Suriving in addition to his
daughter here, are his wife, two
other daughters, a son, his sis
ter, 12 grandchildren and four
great grandchildren.
