MRS. CLYDE DEWEY BOSWELL Miss Betty Sue Diffee Wed Sunday To Clyde Boswell In Church Rites Miss Betty Sue Diffee and Clyde Dewey Boswell, both of Eloo College, N. C., were married Sunday afternoon at four o’clock In a beautiful and impressive ceremony in Elon College Fair view Methodist church. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Roy Diffee, Sr., of Elon College, N. C., is the neice of Miss Grace Davis, Mrs. D. L. Saunders, and Mrs. D. E. Britt, all of Kings Mountain. Rev. M. Dewey Tyson, minis ter of the church, officiated at the double-ring ceremony before an altar banked with palms, wljite gladioli, and white tapers. A white satin - covered kneeling bench completed the decorations. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. Ralph Davis, of Elon College, organist, and Mrs. Tho mas Griffin, of Graham ,and John L. Amick, of Elon College, vocalists. Organ selections included "Lie bestraum” by Liszt, “Tramerel” and “Romance” by Schumann, “I ^ove Thee” by Grieg, “O Pro mise Me” by deKoven, "Arioso” by Bach, and the traditional marches by Wagner and Mendels sohn. Mrs. Griffin sang, "Through the Years” by Youmatts, and "I’ll Walk with God” by Brodszky. Mr. Amick sang, “Sweetest Story Ever Told” by Stults and he and Mrs. Griffin sang, “My Hero” by Straus. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white Chantilly lace and tulle over satin. The dress featured a fitted bas que with scalloped, scoop neck line and fitted sleeves that ended at points at the wrists. The full skirt of lace with scalloped hem line bnded in a chapel train. Her veil of illusion was attached to a 1 fitted headpiece, and she carried a white prayerbook topped with a white orchid from which ex tended ribbon streamers. Mrs. Bill Diffee, of Elon Col lege, sister-in-law of the bride, | was matron of honor, and Miss ! Shirley Underwood, of Elon Col lege, was maid of honor. Brides maids were Miss Carol Jones, Mrs. Bill Roach, both of Elon College, Mrs. Hilda Brooks, of Chatham, Va„ and Miss Eva Bos well, of Chatham, Va., sisters of the groom. Attendants wore ballerina length dresses of aqua crystalette made with draped necklines, fit ted bodices, and flared skirts They carried bouquets of bronze mums. Little Miss Robin Saunders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David D. Saunders of Kings Mountain, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Her dress of white tulle was made with low, ruffled neckline, fitted bodice, and tiered hooped skirt. She carrited a flower bas ket of rose petals. Honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Bill Wrenn, Mrs. Eddie Ross, Mrs. Elwood Ray, and Mrs. Ralph Isley, all of Burlington. Roger Boswell, of Chatham, Va., was his cousin’s best man, and ushers were Bill Diffee, of Elon College, brother of the bride, Larry Barnes, Gurney Baines, both of Portsmouth, Va., Julian Boswell, of Durham, cou sin of the bride, and Billy For rester, of Burlington. The bride’s mother, Mrs. Diffee, wore a dress of royal blue lace with accessories in dusty rose. Mrs. Boswell, mother of the groom, wore a navy dress with matching accessories. Each of the mothers wore a shoulder cor sage of white orchids. Mrs. Boswell was graduated from Altamahaw-Ossipee high school and is employed as a teller at Security National Bank, of Burlington. Mr. Boswell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Dewey Boswell, of Chatham, Va., received his A. B. degree from Elon college and is a member of the Elon college fac ulty. He is a member of Sigma Phi Beta fraternity. Following a week’s wedding trip, the couple will reside at 1017 Ingle strefet, Burlington. Douglas, magistrate, heard the exchange of vows. The bridle wore a street-length dress of white glazed cotton fash ioned on princess lines with scoop neckline and bouffant skirt.
