more than a decade by the Census

because they are in school, re
tired or unable to work; the a
vailability of manpower for both
defense and civilian production,
and similar facts. Industry, labor
and government are constantly
using this information in plan
ning various kinds of programs
and in measuring the general
level of business activity.

A 'Wing Dance" was held Fri
day night in the gymnasium to
present the senior class members
with their rings. Seniors were ad
mitted (free tout underclassmen
had to pay a dime admission.
Mr. Brown along with the sen
ior homeroom advisors presented
the 10 carat gold rings to the sen
iors. This was the first time the
rings had Ibeen received this
early in the year because they
had (been ordered before school
was out last year.
The rings are gold with a tolack
center and a replica of the Kings
Mountain monument surmount
ed upon the black ibackiground.
Kings Mountain High school, and
the date 1780 are engraved a
round the center,. An engraving
of the seal of North Carolina dec
orates each side of the ring with
the year of graduation, 1958, top
ping it. The owner’s initials are
engraved inside the band. The
rings cost $15.82 for the heavier
weigh' and $14.09 for the lighter
weight.
