Billing, Page's Teams In Tie Foi Bowl Lead The Dilling Heating and Page’s Men’s Store teams con tinued to file the top-drawer re ports in the Men’s Duckpin Bowl ing League at the Mountain Lane Center on Monday night. The two clubs remained in a tie for the top in the circuit, with identical 30-18 records, and the leaders also provided the lea gues’ leading scorers for the ev ening. John Dilling of the Heating team rolled the high line of the night’s action, a 133, and also led his team and the match with a 337, as his club whipped Nehi Bottling, three games to one. Jim Cordell with a 115 game and 324 set, all the lines being over a hundred paced Nehi. Roddy Houser of Page’s bowled the highest set of the night* a 357, and also led his team with a 124 game, one of three he roll ed over the century mark, as his club defeated Lemaster Supply, three games to one, to retain its lead deadlock with Billing Heat ing. Albert Brackettt topped Le master with a 125 game and 339 series. Rannie Blanton led Cunning ham TV to four straight game victories over Independents, roll ing a high line of 116 and set of 320. Richard Bridges bowled three lines over a hundred for the winners. Bob Herndon was best for the losers with scores of 111 and 320. Coliseum Has Busy Basketball Slate CHARLOTTE — Four major basketball projects have been booked for ithe Charlotte Coli seum this season. The first comes off December 9-10 when Wake Forest, Duke University, Penn State and and West Virginia play a holiday doubleheade;. On January 7, the North Car olina Tar Hedls and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame headline a second card. A prelim to that one will be Belmont Abbey meeting the Indians of Catawba. The North-South twin bill is set for Feb. 17-18. Four teams in volved at that time are North Carolina State, Clemson, North Carolina and South Carolina. On March 17-18, the fourth an nual District Three NCAA Tour nament will be played in the coliseum. Police Report Monday Wreck City police reported an auto accident at the intersection of E. Ridge Street and Dilling St. Monday at 4:35 p. m. Involved were a 1956 Ford go ing west on Ridge Street and driven by James David Robbs of 505 Woodside Drive and a 1955 Chevrolet going north on Dilling Street and driven by Arthur Cooper of route 3, Shed by. The car driven by Robbs is owned by Frank Grady Hollifield of 612 Meadowbrook Road. Investigating Off i cere Enos Freeman and William Roper re port Robbs was proceeding west on Ridge Street and the Cooper car stopped at a stop sign and then pulled oult in front of the Robbs’ vehicle. Cooper was charged with fail ure to yield right-of-way follow ing investigation by the officers. Damage in the wreck amount ed to some $550, $250 to the left front fender, bumper, head and parking light, and prillle of the Robbs vehicle and $300 (to the entire front end of the Cooper car.
