Win Three In PL
Eight games were reeled off in
Kings Mountain Pony League
aation over the last seven days
with the Margrace and Moose
teams each picking up (three
wins while dropping only one
game.
Margrace defeated the Moose
5 to 1, Rebels 10 to 0 and Maun
ey 17 to 1 for its three victories.

ed Mauney 11 to 2, Rebels 19 to
1 and 4 to 0 for its three wins.
Mar grace’s lone defeat was to
the Mauney team 8 to 7 Monday
night.
Last Wednesday night Sprouse
threw a three-hitter at the Moose
team to pick up the 5 to 1 vic
tory with the aid of Ronnie Rhea
who had two hits in four trips,
including a double in the bottom
of the sixth.
In the second game of the
night the Mauney team used
nine hits to good advantage in
taking a 16 to 10 win over the
Rebels. Wright with 2 for 4 and
R. Cash 2 for 5 led the hitting
for the winners. McNeily and
Carroll had two hits each for the
losers.
Thursday Mauney was limited
to three hits by Moose hurler
Plonk and suffered an 11 to 2
setback.
Plonk also led the hitting with
three singles in four at bats.
Later in the second game Mar
grace downed the Rebels 10 to 0
on Bumgardner’s two-hitter. The
winners registered fourteen hits.
In make-up games last week
Margrace used eleven hits to
down Mauney 17 ito 1 and the
Moose team had fourteen hits in
its 19 to 1 bombing of the Rebels.
Monday the Rebels were dis
posed of handily by the Moose
with Plonk hurling a two-hit 4
to 0 shutout. The fireballer again
led his team in hitting with a
single and double in two plate
appearances.
A walk, error and R. Cash’s
single provided the one-run mar
gin for the Mauney team’s 8 to
7 upset over Margrace in Mon
day’s eight inning second game.
The loss was number one for the
league leading Margrace nine.
Rally Falls Short;
Fryefttes Lose 6-5
The Kings Mountain Fryettes
came alive to score five runs in
the sixth inning but fell one
short as the Shelby Boys Club
Number Two eked out a 6 to 5
victory in Cleveland County Neg

week.
Neal Pressly gave up four hits,
six walks and six runs to ab
sorb his first loss of the 1962
season. He struck out eight.
D. Hunter led the Fryettes at
the plate with a home run.
In the Boy’s Club big four run

through with a three-run homei
to lead the visitors at the plate
Monday, July 2, the Fryettes
will play the league leading
Lanterns in a 7 p. m. contest.
Winners over the Lanterns in
a previous meeting the Fryettes'
season record now stands at 3
win and 2 losses.

Plastics line
To Be Marketed
By Celanese
NEW YORK — Plans to make
and market a diversified line of
plastics in Japan were announced
jointly here today by Celanese
Corporation of America and
Rainippon Celluloid Company
(Daicell).
Products to be produced and
marketed will include the Cela
nese acetal copolymer known as
Celoon in this country. This high
performance plastic will be sold
under the trademark Duracon in
Japan. Other products will cover
a wide range of cellulosic films
and sheets.
Application will be made to
the Japanese Government for the
necessary approvals of the two
companies’ plans which include
formation of a manufacturing
company and construction of
plants in Japan. The plants will
nave an annual production ca
pacity of more than 16 million
pounds of acetal co-polymer and
ippnoximately 5 million pounds
of cellulosic plastics.
(Meanwhile joint operations

with the establishment of Poly
plastics Company limited as an

ing powder and cellulose propi
onate flake and molding powder.
These molding powders are used
for production of packaging ma
terials, pens, telephones, appli
ance housings and many other
products.
Celanese operations — domestic
and foreign — involve the de
velopment, manufacture and
marketing of chemical pulps, or
ganic Chemicals and synthetic fi
bers, as well as plastic products
and the resins and molding pow
ders from Which these products
are derived. The Corporation has
17 plants and four laboratories in
the United States and afMated
foreign companies in seven other
countries operate a total of 18
plants.
