tion of her 72nd birthday. It
was planned as a surprise for
her by her children.
Mr. and Mrs. Oran 'White of
Charlotte spent the weekend
with Mrs. White’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. W. C. Blanton. Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Weaver and Su
san were Sunday guests. They
all enjoyed a trip to Norman’s
Lake near Lincolnton in the af
ternoon.

fame will star in "CanCan,” Au
gust 7 through August 12 at
Ben Kapen’s Charlotte Music
Theatre.

try from June, 1965 to May, 1956.

wild dances and, naturally, falls
in love with the owner, played
by Genevieve. He goes in busi
ness with her and tries to prove
her innocence.

guine,” wiote the outstandingly
beautiful musical score. Among
the more memoralble song hits
from the play are “C’Est Magni
