Susan McCarter, Other Students Take Part In Grover Talent Event By MRS. GENE TURNER ; GROVER — Miss Susan Mc Carter was third runner up in the fourth grade division of the Klwanls Talent show Thursday night. Miss Shelia Hardin, was second runner up in the first and second grade division. Mr. Grady Ross, has gone to Mandan, North Dakota for sev eral weeks on Construction work. 'Mr. and Mrs. Victor McCarter, and family of Charlotte spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. C. M. McCailter. Mrs. Edward Bell, entertained at her sons eighth birthday Sat urday afternoon. Fifteen of Ed die’s friends were there, to help celebrate his party. Mr. and Mrs. Bill McCarter and Susann, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Rhea and Mickey, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart of Blacksburg spent Sunday afternoon at the McCarter cottage at Catawba River. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stanley of Charlotte spent the weekend with Mrs. S. A. Crisp, Sr. Mr and Mrs. William Hardin and David of Lincolntoti spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. J. Hardin and Mrs. T. L. Putnam. Mr. Woodrow Martin, Bruce and Barbara spent Sunday with Mr. Martins mother, Mrs. Greely Martin, in Blacksburg. Little Miss Cindy Hamrick, of Charlotte, spent several days this past week with Mrs. Alice Bridges and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Tate of Co lumbia, S. C., announced the birth of a daughter Saturday, May 11. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Tate. Mrs. Charlie Mullinax, who be longs to one of the Sunshine League Bowling teams at North 29 Lanes, Charlotte, was given a luncheon Tuesday at the Heart of Charlotte Motel. First, Second and Third winner trophies were given. There are 12 teams in this league. Mrs. Mullinax, has recent ly moved to Grover, from Char lotte. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Blalock, and family moved from Charlotte to Kings Mountain over the week end. Mrs. Blalock, was Miss Judy Hope. Mrs. Dea n Hope visited Satur day afternoon with Mrs. Minnie Perry in Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Eaker, spent the weekend with Mrs. Min nie Perry in Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs, M. M. Eaker, spent the weekend on Catawba fishing Mr. Hood Watterson and Mr. Dewey Montgomery spent Saturday with them. Mrs. oJhn Holcomb and Miss Ruth Holcomb of Gastonia spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. T. E. Robinson and family.
