Myrtle Coper Lippard. who died1
in a fire in their five-room homoj
at China Grove Friday night,
were held at St. Mark's Lutheran
•hurch, China Grove. Monday
afternoon.
The Lippaids were unole and
aunt of Jacob Cooper and Mrs.
George \V. Monk, of Kings
Mountain.
According to information of,
relatives here, a neighbor sum- j
mimed firemen about 10:30 p.m.
when he saw smoke emanating'
from the Lippard home.
The body oi Mr. Lippard. 61,
was found in bed. of Mrs. Lip
pard. 59. in a pantry near the
back porch door. The kitchen
sink water was running, leading
to speculation that Mrs. Lippard
was seeking to extinguish the
fire when overcome by smoke.
The interior of the house was
badly charred, excepting one
room where the door had been
shut.

as Senator from the Twenty-sev
enth District. lie was President
