People In The News Theresa Jane Bumgardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bumgardner, celebrated her first birthday Sunday. July 19th. Terry was guest-of-honor at a family birthday party at her home. Her decorated birthday cake was topped with clowns and one candle. The cake was cut and served with ice cream. Terry's grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bumgard ner and Mr. and Mrs. Wray A. Plonk. Mrs. Bud Rhea and Mrs. Bob Hullender in the ladies' parlor of First Baptist church. The honoree was given a white shoulder corsage from the hostesses and gifts of miscellaneous household items from the 50 quests attending from 7:30 until 9:30. Overlaid with white over pink, the refreshment table was centered by a candelabrum of white glads and tall can dles. Pink punch was served from a crystal bowl at one end of the table w th pink and white party cakes, pink and white mints and nuts. Women of Kings Mountain Woman’s dub and Kings Moun tain Junior Woman's club plan to attend. Registration will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Brunch will be serv ed at 11 a.m. and the meeting will be adjourned at 1 p.m. Mrs. James Caliendo of Stanley, president, will preside. Two state officers. Miss Mar jorie Yokely, first vice-president of the state federation, and Mrs Julian Porter, second vice-presi dent. will be present. They also vacationed at Carolina Beach at Wilmington and Kurev Beach and visited the Battleship N n th Carolina in Wil mington. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Z’mmer of Akron.
