Miss Tyson says the I li'ers visited an orange grove and pack ing house, a honey packing house, research fields and other places of interest. Next summer, the Marion County I H ers w ill \isit in the Mecklenburg County homes. HIGHER EDUCATION SOUGHT The Home Demonstration edu cation committees in Henderson County is hci'oming quite active under the leadership >f Mrs. Jean K< mpton. They did a survey ear lier this year to determine needs and problems in the* county. Mrs. Peggie Davis, associate home economics agent, explains 'hat they ho|*c to start classes for "school drop-outs” on reading and English. The plans include teaching the basic subjects ot English, math and social studies which eoulil lie applied towards <a high school degree. Retired teachers have offered to donate their services in teaching the classes. 4 II LEADER Many senior 4-11 girls h«\c gained enough skill and training through experience in 4-H that they can deal with people and 1 teach them effectively.
