Mrs. Juntos Ah tv lAltlcjohrt Miss Beverley Yarbrough Wed Sunday To James Littlejohn In Noon Ceremony Miss Beverley Anne Yarbrough became the bride of James Alvin Littlejohn Sunday in a 12 noon wedding in Kings Mountain Bap tist church. Rev. Lau rence Roberts of Shel by hoard the exchange of pledges, using the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. J. C. Bridges was organ ist for the program of nuptial music and B. S. Peeler was vocal soloist Mr. Peeler sand Gounod's “Entreat Me Not to Leave Thee" before the ceremony ami 'Ma lotte's “The Lord's Prayer" as the benediction. Mrs. Bridges played “Ah. So Pun*" by Von Flotow; "O Lonl Most Holy" by Franck; "O Per feet Love" by Rarnby; and “I Love Tins-" by Grieg. The proces sional was “Bridal Chorus" from “Lohengrin" by Wagner and Men delssohn's “Wedding March” from “A Midsummer Night's Dream." The church altar was I tankini by arrangements of all-white glads, snapdragons, and chrysan themums interspersed with ocean spray fern. Japanese yew and gypsophilia. T!m* bride and bridegroom came to the altar together The bride's formal gown was designed of Italian silk peau do sole and im ported Aleneon la<e. The empire law- Itodice was fashioned with scalloped portrait neckline and cap sleeves. A contour cummer bund appliqued with lain* motifs circled the waistline, and the bell skirt, appliipiisl with lace me dallions centered with tiny bows, dipped to the back into a chapel length train. Her triple-tier veil of Imported silk illusion was at tached to a tall pillbox of Aleneon lace trimmed with lily-of-the-val ley and she wore a pearl neck lace. a family heirloom that had belonged to her grandmother. Her nosegay was of stephanotis anti white bride's roses. For her daughter’s wedding. Mrs. Yarbrough chose a cocktail length dress of robin blue silk organ/a with an elongated bodice of Swiss embroidery in blue tones. She wore a Sally Victor pillbox of blue silk organ/a and braid with a enge veil and a white orchid shoulder corsage. The bridegroom’s mother wore a cockrtail length dress of petal pink chiffon belted in pink satin and trimmed with crystals. Her matching pink petal hat was dropped with complexion veil and she wore a white orchid as a shoulder corsage. Home Ceremony At Grover Saturday United Miss Cockrell, Charles Peeler Miss Julia Starr Cockrell of Grover and Charles Hugh Peeler of Shelby were wed Saturday eve ning at the home of the bride’s parents in Grover. Rev. Richard Hobson, pastor ofj Shiloh Presbyterian church, heard I the couple exchange vows of the1 double-ring ceremony in the pres ence of their immediate families. 1 •Mrs. J. D. Hambnght was at j the piano for a program of nup tial music. White snapdragons, mums and gladioli were flanked by lighted tapers in the ceremony room. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown de ; signed by Edith Vincent of silk organ/a and imported Alencon lace over faille taffeta. The lace bodice featured a bateau neck line finished with lace scallops and short sleeves. The controlled bell-shaped skirt had a Watteau lact* panel that spread to a brush train. A tiara of seed pearls held her bouffant veil of illusion and she carried a colonial bouquet of Frenched carnations nestled in fluffs of maline. Best man for the bridegroom was his father. The bride’s parents entertained after the ceremony at a reception at which the bridal pair cut their wedding cake. Overlaid with pink net over satin, the bride's table held a three-tier cake as central decoration. Pink carnations, white mums, shasta daisies and pink rosebuds at the center of the ta ble were flanked by tapers. Pink punch was served with the cake. Mrs. Andy Cockrell of Charlotte, sister-in-law of the bride, cut and served the cake, and Misses In* and Luis Cockrell of Statesville, aunts of the bride, served punch. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. W. Fred Cockrell of Grover are parents of the bride who is a 1964 graduate of Shelby high srhool. She made her debut at the Shelby Sub-Deb Ball in June. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hugh Peeler of Shelby. A 1964 graduate of Shelby high school, he will be a freshman at Gardner Webb col lege this month. For their wedding trip to the mountains of North Carolina and to Gatlinhurg. Tenn., the bride wore a blue knit suit and lifted the carnations from her bouqubt. Members of the two families and friends attended. Miss Yarbrough and Mr. Little john. son of Mrs. Littlejohn, were married Sunday in Kings (Moun tain Baptist church. Overlaid with floor-length doth of pink ruffled satin, the bride's table was highlight of decoration. The pink color note carried out the pink decor of the dining room where the refreshment table was placed in front of windows which were draped with pink satin cur tains. Mrs. J. V. Clay and Miss Martha Clay, of Greensboro, cut and served the cake. Mrs. W. F. Craig. Jr. of Columbia. S. C. serv ed punch from a green and white decorated table in the den. The wedding cake, a tall, three tiered pillared cake of white and green, centered the table. A min iature bride and groom stood on the top tier and white sugar bells frosted the bottom tiers. Gypso philia and white candles were at one end of the taMe. The mantel was arranged with pink hearts, pink roses and ivy flanked by tall, pink candles. The piano in the living room was also decorat ed with pink candles and flowers carrying out the pink, green and white theme. Assisting in receiving and en tertaining were Mrs. Bryan Hord.
