Pledge Vows In Bethany Church Rites

married Saturday in a 7 p.m
wedding in Grover's Bethany
Baptist church.
The Rev. Perry Montgomery
heard the couple pledge vows of
the double ring ceremony. Kdd
Hamrick was vocalist anil Mrs.
Hamrick was organist for the
program of nuptial music.
Given in marriage by her step
father. Wilbur Roark, the briile
wore a formal gown of mirror
mist taffeta, fashioned with a
portrait neckline traced with
appliques of re-emhroidered Al
eneon lace, long sleeves, and a
lace-trimmed boll skirt falling
into a ehajM-1 train. Iler tiered
veil of silk illusion was caught
to a small hat of re-embroidered
Alencon lace and silk rosettes
and she carried a white Bible
top|H-d with an orchid and step
hanotis.

Kings Mountain was maid of
honor for her cousin. Anita Rr»
ark of Grover, sister of the bride,
and Wanda Wisher of Blacks
burg. sister of the bridegroom,
were bridesmaids. Glenda Mont
gomery of Charlotte served as
flower girl and Bill Foster of
Columbia, S. C. was ringhearer.
All the attendants wore cock
tail-length dresses of scarlet sat
in du charme and circular veils
caught to scarlet bows. They

from a winkling trip to the moun

with the bride's mother and step
father until the end of the school
term.

Rescue Squad
Party Held
Grover Rescue Squad held a
holiday dinner-dance Saturday
night at the Squad headquarters
in Grover with ovfcr 65 guests
present for the gala festivities.
The affair was planned by
members of the Squad Auxiliary
Wives of members. Grover Town
officials, and members of the
Squad attended.
Barbeciied pork and chicken
featured the dinner menu. Din- j
ner was served buffet style anti
dancing provided the evening en
tertainment
The Squad Building was made
festive with Christmas decora
tions in red and white. T..o tall
silver trees were decorated in
red balls and held wrapped pack
ages for each of the guests.
