ships. He staled that the Belk
group of department stores,
which operate under an unusual
plan of local control, take great
intcres' in the citizen* and area
surrounding each store. Since
each store is a part of the bust
ness life in which it participates,
it feels a responsibility to eintri
hole towards the betterment of
local people.
To accomplish this, the Rclk
Foundation was established as a
memorial to Dr. .lolin VI. Rclk.
