Bridal parties this week and next will honor Miss Bet ty Morrison, whose wedding to Hugh Edwards, Jr. of Charlotte takes place Sep tember Thursday night Miss Scar lett Morrison honored her sister at a bridge party at tended by high school and college’friends of the bride- to-be. Pink net rice bags tied with valley lilies mark ed the places at two tables. The honoree's place was marked by a corsage of purple asters and button chrysanthemums. The host ess gave the bride-to-be a gift of placemats and napkins. A dessert course was served. Playing prizes went to Pattie • Howard, who received high, and Anne Cooper who held lecond-high. Last night Miss Both Houser and Miss Sue Hunnicutt entertained at the Houser home on Ridge street at a mis cellaneous bridal shower for Miss Morrison. Other parties planned this week include a Thursday bridge-luncheon in Greensboro at the home of Mrs. Blair Dailey. Miss Linda Lael will be co-hostess; a luncheon Sat urday at Vance Motor Inn in Statesville to be given by Mrs. Dalbert Shefte of Charlotte, Mrs. Eugene Carson of States ville and Mrs. Dick Williams of Roanoke, Va.; and a Cola party Friday at 4:30 to be given by Sara Rose Lennon and Ann Broadwater at the Lennon home here. Next week's parties will include a bridge party-kitchen shower at the home of Mrs. Robert Southwell on Tuesday evening. About This N' That A back-to-school dance for high school and college students kicked off September activities for Country Club members and guests Wednesday night. A second back-to-school affair is planned for Saturday morning when young folk up to sixth grade will enjoy a swim party at the club pool from 10:30 until 12 noon. Mrs. F. Smith at 203 Goforth street will honor their son, Gregory Roy Smith, who celebrates his third birthday Sunday. Greg's birthday cake will be decorated in green and orange race cars and top ped with three candles. They were at Cape Kennedy to watch the Gemeni 5 take-off in space and also visited Silver Spring. Rev. and Mrs. Marion DuBose, Clyde and James, have moved to Gloucester, Va. where Mr. DuBose has accepted pastorate of the Gloucester Baptist church.
