The Rev. Gaston Camp of Mooresboro, uncle of the bride, heard the couple pledge vows of the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. N F. McGill, Sr. was or ganist for Che program of nuptial music and Jacob Dixon was vo cal soloist. Palms and seven-branched can- delabi'a decorated the choir loft of the church sanctuary. Two brass tree candelabra interspers ed with ferns and imums were used on either side of the altar and a large central eirrangement of all-w'hite mums and glads were in the center. Completing the setting was a white wrought- iron prayer bench at which the couple knelt Ifor the benediction. Oi'gan program included “Ari oso” by Handel: Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze”; “Panis An- gelicus” by Franck; “Intermez zo” by Mascagni; “Meditation from Thais” by Massenet: Schu bert’s “Ave Maria”: and “O Per fect Love" by 'Barnby. She also played the traditional wedding marohes from Lohengin by Wag ner and Mendelssohn. Mr Dixon sang “Entrcr.t Me Not to Leave Thee” by GoUnod before the entrance .o-f the bridal part.v and “The Crimiand”. (The Lord’s My Shepherd) by l^Iueller just before the exchange of vows. He sang “Wedding Pray er” by Dunlap as the benediction. Broadus Pinkney Herndon es corted his daughter to the altar and gave her in marriage. The bride’s fon.xal gown was design ed of silk organza and imported white Chantilly lace. Fashioned with empire bodice featurinig a bateau neckline and elbow-length sleeves, the dress was highlight ed by pearl-trimmed lace motifs appliqued around the neckline and on the gored skirt which spread to a Chapel train. Her triple-tier boufllant veil of 'im ported silk illusion was attached to a matching lace pillbox and blush veil and she carried a cas cade bouquet of white glaimellias, frenched carnations and stephan- otis centered by a white orchid Miss Norma Spearm'an attend ed the bride as maid lof honor and bridesmaids were Miss Ka thy Herndon of Kings Mountain, Miss Donna Strahan, of Char lotte, cousins of the bride; Miss Pam Beck of Lincolnton, college classmate of the bride; Miss Kathie Martin of Mayodan, col lege roommate of the bride; and Miss Elizabeth Bunch and Miss Sluisan Lowery, both of Kings Mountain. Charlotte Seism, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Seism, was iflower girl. TOPAZ SATIN All the attendants wore for mal-length :gowns of topaz glolite satin with empire bodices, elbow- length sleeves and miniature bows at the front of the bust lines. Their A-line skirts were enhanced by gathered fullness to the back. Their matching hair bows were dropped with tulle veils and they wore dyed-to- match satin slippers and carried double rings wrapped in gold satin to iratch their dresses with gold mums cascading from them. Groomsmen in cluded Jimmy Robins.on, brother icf the bridegrocimi; Tony Robin son, cousin of the bridegroom; (Larry Kelly, Ricky Kelly, Bobby Kelly and Bill Groves, all of Bes semer City. 1 David Lynn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Lynn, carried the rings. Al tar vases were filled with yellow glads and mums. Mrs. C. Frederick McArver was at the organ for the pro gram of wedding music and vo cal numbers were by Mrs. Dar lene S. Heavey. Mrs. McArver placed “Sheep May Saiiely Graze” by Bach, C. Franck’s “Panis Angclicus”; “En tree Nuptiale” by Henry Smith; “Meditation Religieuse” by C. Schreiner; “Now Thank We All Our God” by Johann Cruger; “Melody In A” by William Stick les; “Jesus, Lead Theu On” by Paul Mantz and “The Lord My Shepherd Is ” Processional for the attendants’ was Bach's “Jesu, Jay of Man’s Desiring.” The bride and her father entered to the imiusie of Lohengrin’s Wed ding March by Wai;ner. Mendels sohn’s “Wedding March” from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” w’as played for the recessional. Mrs. Heavey sang “Whither Thou Goest” by Guy Singer and “The Ring” by Robert Schumann before the exchange of voyvs and “Wedding Prayer” by Fern Glas- Continued On Page^2 Miss Merlyn Elaine Sellers be came the bride of Jackie Lee Blanton Sunday in a -1 p.m. ex- cliange cf vows in Chorrj-ville’s Shady Grove Baptist church. The Rev. Ma/rvin H Willis of ficiated at the double-ring cere mony. Ml'S. H. L. Murpliy was organ ist for the program of classical and sacred music and Tom Mau- ne\' was vocalist. Mr. Maunoy sang “The Greate.st Of These Is Love” ifrom 1 Corinthians XIII by Bitgood and Dunlap's "Wed ding Prayer.” The traditional wetlding ..rarchc.s and ‘Trumpet Voluntary" by Clarke were in cluded in the pi ogiam of organ selections. The altar of the church was banked by Oregon and Emerald fern accented by a center ar rangement of white !glads„ stiap- dragons and gypsophiiia flanked on either side by seven-branch ed candelabra holding cathedral tapm-s. The bride’s fatlier gave her ,in marriage. Her formal gown of silk peau de sole and imported Pi'au d’Ange lace was designed with empii’c bodice styled with scoop neckline appliqued with lace plastron. Highlighting the bodice were kabuki sleeves trim med with lace scallops. The sheath skirt feaPured a band of scalloped lace at the hemline A full redingote overskirt caught to a butterfly bow at the hack and spread to a full Chapel train. Young Miss Rudisill is daughter of Mrs. Linda Rudisill of Kings Mountain. Bridal Parlies Miss Becky Payne, whose wedding to Leland Meacham takes place September 18th at 3 p.m. in First Wesleyan Methodist church, was honor guest at a recent bridal party held in the fellowship hall of the church. Hostesses were Mrs. Betty Ann Yates and Miss Sandra Hullender. Green punch was served with party cakes, nuts and mints. The gift table was decorated in green and white and was centered by a bride and bridegroomjfigiidne. The bride-to-be wore a beige two-piece suit and was given a corsage by the hostesses. The 20 guests showered Miss Payne with lingerie gifts. * * * * A buffet dinner Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Tom Strahan and Miss Donna Strahan in Charlotte honored Miss Beverly Herndon, whose wedding to William Robinson was an event of Saturday. Miss Strahan was a bridesmaid in her cousin's wedding. Other guests, members of the bridal party, were Mrs. Broadus Herndon, mother of the bride-elect; Miss Norma Spearman, Miss Kathy Herndon, Miss Libby Bunch, Miss' Susan Lowery, Miss Pam Beck, the latter of Lincolnton, Mrs. Charles Spearman and daughter, Charlotte, and Mrs. L. B. Ashe of Charlotte, grandmother of the bride-elect. A green and yellow motif was carried out in the decor* ations. The table was overlaid with green linen draped with net and centered by a floral arrangement and candles. Guests ate by candlelight. Miss Herndon was given a place setting in her china pattern as a gift from the hostesses. Cominqs And Goings Mrs. Sam Hamrick, Miss Mae Sue Goforth, both‘of Kings Mountain, and Mrs. I. M. Allen of Shelby spent last week at White Lake. Joining them for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hawkins of Shelby and Mrs. J. C. Devenney and children of Kings Mountain. Mrs. Hamrick, Mrs. Hawkins and Mrs. De venney are daughters of Mrs. Allen. The Allen family expects to purchase a summer home at White Lake and made the trip to look at several homes there.
