Eugene McCarter. Mr. McCarter has operated the firm on East King street the past 17 years. He’ -did not announce his future plans. The firm will operate under I the same name, the new partners said yesterday. Mr. Bumgardner and Mr. Moorr ; are both Kings Mountain natives Mr, Btumgardner having been associated with Mr. McCarter for ; sometime in the firm’s operation ; Mr. Moore comes to the fim ! from Cleveland Cloth Mill at 1 .Shelby. Bumgardner is son- of Mrs j Ralph Bumgardner of Kihg Mountain and the late Mr. Bum gardner. Moore Is the son of Mr and Mrs. Cleve Moore of King. Mountain. Jack Schweppe's Mother Passes Mrs. Walter Schweppe, mother J of John V. (Jack) Schweppe j manager of the Shelby plant of i PPG Industries, died last Wed nesday. Funeral rites were held Friday in Butler, Pa. Mrs. Schweppe is survived by her husband and seven children TO MARS HILL Schools Superintendent Don ald Jones was in Mars HU1 Tuesday >and Wednesday at tending a state-wide meeting of school superintendents. Mis. Hannon's Rites Conducted Funeral rites for Mrs. Mildred Jane Harmon, 56, widow of Alee; Harmon who died in 1961, were! held Saturday at 3 p.m. from David Baptist church of which she was a member. Rev. N. S. Hardin officiated al the final rites, and interment was in Cleveland Memorial Park at Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, Mrs. Harmon was daughter of William M. Williams of Kings Mountain. In addition to her father, she is survived by a brother, John Williams of Gastonia; and three sisters, Mrs. J. D. Harmon, Mrs. Everette Patterson and Mrs. George Allen,of Shelby, Most of the heart trouble in rhildren, according to the North Carolina Heart Association, is caused by untreated strep infec tion resulting in rheumatic fever. IREA1KING DEMONSTRATION — Central Junior High School had a rescue-breathing demon stration last week. James Harkins, from Waynesville. N. C„, was on hand to teach the students how to use various means of rescue-breathing. Mr. Harkins teaches Rescue Squad Units around the state the various methods of rescue and offered his services to the school. Pictured above is Mr. Hat kins (kneeling). Dummy’s name is “Resusci-Ann", named by the inventor who lost his daughter.
