I have missed the pa.st two Christmas Holidays at homo with my fami- ,iy- ! I \yish to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreela- lion and thanks to all of you whoj remembered me during the past two Holiday Seasons. I have re ceived ijriany cards and letters from you which has made me proud to know that I am support ed by my hometown in fighting for what we believe is right. I ask that if you have a few spare minutes that you -write a; short card or letter to other serv icemen in V^ietnam. One of the biggest "morale boosters" for a serviceman is a letter from home. At times I have actually been glad to receive a bill beeqese my name was mentioned at mail call Sincerely yours, James C. Burning grea.se will not be ex tinguished by throwing water on it. says the American Insurance Association. The best remedy, after first turning off the heat, is to throw baking soda on the burning grease. Another recommended method is to place a large, flat cover over the pan, using a long handled fork to .set it in place. In order to prevent this type of fire, the Association suggests that broilers, ovens and top-of-stove burners be kept free of grease, and that grease containers be SKIB s; came disabled. For example, i,' you were disabled in 1966 your -- i years of work credits must hav- * gEllIlT Ibeeii earned during the lO-yea».« ' I period 1936-1966. * Q My husband had a sdroki- last month and will not be able to return to work. If I start draw ing disability benefits will my family draw, too? A. Yes. Your wife and children , could qualify for benefits fhc same conditions as if you had reaehi-d retirement age. Q. I contracted an incurable disease last summer. 1 am 35 years of age. How many work credits will I need to qualify for (Usability benefits? A. You need 20 quarters of coverage (roughly 5 years) whidi you mu.st have earned during the 10-year period ju.st before you be- plaeed far from stoves. In 1966, home fires look the fives of 6,700 people. Proper safe ly precautions could have pre vented much of this tragic lo.ss. lA. He should file an applicu tion now. By filing ea^y he can help us get a prompt decision on his claim. I Q. I started drawing retire- ‘ merit benefits last year when I reached 65. I am now disabled, fan I get disability payments? A. No. Disability payments arc not made to a person who is 65 or over. Retirement payments arc made instead. Having A Wedding?
