LETTER TO THE EDITOR John saw a new heaven and a new<*arlh, f»>r the old earth seem ed to pass away. In the clouds he saw the city of God coming down to the new earth. And he lieard a great voice from hca\en say, “’Behold, God’s house is with men and he will dwell with them. They shall be his people and he will be their God. And GikI will wipe a)way all tears from their eyes. Never a- gain shall they weep for sorrow. Never again shall they cry for pain. For sorrow, pain, and death shall b{* no more.” And John saw the beautiful city of God, far more beautiful than anything he had ever seen on earth. The citizens of that city djd not ne(?d the sun tor light, be- I cause God was their light. John saw peopU- from every nation of earth in that city, peo ple whose sins had been forgiven because they believed in Jesus. He noticed that nothing wrong or unclean entered that city. Only those whose names were written in heaven's book were admitted. Flowing through the city John saw a river of crystal water. A- long the banks grew the tree of life bearing ripe fruit. And the Leaves of that tree w^re for the Healing of the nations. When John saw all these things, he fell xl<^wn to worship at the ^ angel's feeu- But the ,an^el lifted t-Universal Gun Club Inc. . And blessed are they who keep his commands, for they shall ehter the gates of the beau tiful city and eat of the fruit from the tree of life.” Jesus then said to John. *T have sent my angel to tell you these things. And whoever wishes may come and drink of the water of life freely, for the invitation is to alj men. But only those who hear and obey God’s words may share the blessings of heaven.” Fin^y Jesus said, Surely I come quick ly.” And John, the aged prisoner, replied, "Even so, come, Lord; Jesus.” Dave Huffstetler Piedmont Baptist Church Five Local Scouls To Attend Camp and Mrs. Stokes Wright, Howard, Beth and Marty. .M^ and -Mrs. DonaUI Ray and ^T^•s. Florida and rela , the ole’ plague has hTT. "Railroad Crossings.” This is one of the oldest subjects, but people still get killed or crippled for life. Mayor Moss or members of the City Councilman can’t save lives at any railroad crossing. Only the nut at the wheel can do this, bu' a lot of people have the idea that they can make it across, some do, others don't. This has ob served trains through Kings Mountain and I do not in my’ opinion think the speed is ex cessive, besides, slower speed can kill just the same as high speed, I but on the other hand with or j without safety devices, people an j going to get killed at railroajd crossings and for any person lose his Or her life at a railro&d^ crossing is a very poor way to die. The Southern Railway, the Mayor or City Council are not to. blame. This been a subject for several years now. When someone pulls up on railroad crossing and gets killed, some few people start cry^ ing to the Mayor and city fathers to in turn cry to the Southern Railroad because someone got killed. The Southern Railroad or City officials didn’t force these people on the tracks. Therefore 1 where else can the blame be plac ' ed except on the deceased. One of I the best ideas is to follow a few I w’ell chosen items to do before I’Tossing a railroad track. 1. Before crossing be sure there is no train. 2. If you see a train down the track in motion, don’t try to be an expert of judging speed. 3. Your car may stall on crossing, the train won’t. 4. Don’t think the engineer is out to get you, because he is tak ing a chance of losuig his life bemuse you thought you were: smart enough to beat the train. 5. If all signs and warnings are obeyed, you can live a. longer Ule and have a car to drive.. 6. The train crews are just do ing a job they are paid to do, s< don't risk their lives by your stu pidity, they want to live. 7. The blame for crossing lies buried in the cemetaries across the nation. So don't try to outfox the trains because it don't always work, the train may be the win ner. T. C. HarriU other scouts.
