Numerous July Fourth activities are planned in
Kings Mountain.
A "Family Fourth" is slated at the Country club
with a Scotch Foursome from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Lunch
will be served at the poolside at 12 noon with plates $1
for adults and 75 cents for children. Swimming events
and contests for all ages begin at 4 p.m. Trophies will be
awarded to the winners. Barbecue supper will be served
at 7 p.m. with plates $1.50 for adults and $1 for chil
dren.

an all-day celebration Friday at the Department's new
home in the Oak Grove community.
Barbecue will be served all day, and events vzill in
clude greased pig chases, greased pole climbing, coun
try music, and an auction sale.

Family Night picnic Tuesday, instead of Monday, at 7

Dr. Lucia C. Morgan, professor of speech at the
University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, was house-
guest of Rev. and Mrs. James M. Wilder during the
weekend.
Dr. Morgan, lecturer and author. Is on the speech
faculty at N. C. School for the Deaf in Morganton this
summer.

Mrs. Ben T. Jackson and children, Benny, Leigh,
Kimberley, and JiH are here from Boston, Mass, for a
visit with Mrs. Jackson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
Davis.
Dr. Jackson will arrive this weekend after a business
trip to Europe and will accompany his family to Jack
sonville, Fla. for a visit with his parents.
Other house-guests of the Davises and Jacksons
were Rev. and Mrs. Robert Houston and son. David, of
Boston. The Houstons were enroute to Atlanta.

IN 3 CLUB TOURNEY
Mrs. Henry Nelsler and Mrs. H. D. McDaniel tied
for low score and Mrs. Fred Withers held low putt in
the 3 club tournament held by Kings Mountain Women's
Golf Association Tuesday on the greens of the Coun
try Club golf course.
Members gathered for luncheon and a business
meeting after the tournament.
Mrs. Noisier, president of the association, who
presided, invited members to attend the Foothills
League Ladles Golf Day at Lake Hickory on July 27th,

in the church parlors. The wed
ding theme of pink and white
was beautifully carried out in dec
orations and refreshments. The
bride’s table, overlaid with pink
tablecloth, was centered with the

silver service.
The couple’s wedding trip will
take them to the V’irgin Islands.
For traveling Mrs. Franklin wore
a grey printed voile dress with
shirred waistline and sleeves. She

the roses lifted from her bouquet.
