During the last halt of 1970, “drug abuse” films were booked for showing 3,28B times in every county in North Carolina. "Until then, the ptiblic didn^ show any par- tloular Interest in films on drugs,” Whitley said. “As a mat ter of fact, prior to 1969 we didn’t have a single film on marijuana ■—now we have 36. Our inventory of drug films describes Just about every harmful drug 'being used today and the dreaded effects en countered in its use,” he said.
