City Sets Higher Prices
For Water, Sewer Taps
The cily board of commissioners Tuesday incrcas- j
ed water and sewer tap fees and made slight changes j
in electrical fees and city policies.
The city Iiad not adjusted fees in ten years. Mayor :
John Henry Moss confirmed with Grady Yolton, public
works superintendent, and Earl Turhyfill, electrical
superintendent. Meantime, the superintendents said
costs, for meters, materials, and labor have increased
heavily.
The new schedule:
ELECTRICAL
Inside city transfer fee (no former fee).
Temporary service, formerly $2, now
Wiring permit, formei* maximum $5, now .SIO.
Tile city will determine whore a meter is set on
a new service. The contractor will install the ri.scr,
meter sockets and all masts. (The city will continue
to furnish the meter sockets.)
All risers will be two-inch wire, or larger.
