Do I have to report this a.s in- c<3me on my 1971 Federal in come tax return? t)> Disney Show All New Cast February 2 OHARiLOTTE. — The all-new I and different edition of "Disney On Parade” for 1972 which ap pears February 2 through 6 at the Charlotte Coliseum for nine Ijerformances, brings more than 100 favorite Disney classics and characters alive on stage to de light all ages. This year’s show is still a live 2 1-2-hour musical h'^sed on the fantasy and magic nat is always Walt Disney, but this third edi tion brings to life brand new stories like “The Aristocals,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Winnie the Pooh,” and “The Three Cabal leros”—all new for 1972. “Disney On Parade” has been in existence only two years, yet already it has become known throughout the world as whole some family entertainment. The first edition of “Disney On Pa rade” is now playing to record crmvds in Australia and New Zealand. Another edition will be traveling to Western Europe in July of this year. This new show 'Will play to 42 cities throughout this country as well a.s Canada and Mexico before moving to another hemisphere. The cast—all profes.sional dan cers—specialty performers, and stage crew fly from city to city, but the scenery, props, and ela- b<n*ate costumes (more than 300) . are transported in ten huge trucks—two of which hou.se tlio world’s largest portable stage (135x56 f(?et in dimension). Special music was developed for the show by <x>mrK>.ser-musi- cian Paul Weston who has work ed with Tommy Dorsey and Henry Mancini tlirouch 35 years of music baekcrai'nd. Chon^o- Igraphy was hand'ed by Tom Hansen whose credits ran^e from extensive television work for the Red Skelton. Tim Conway, and Danny Kaye shows, tn snecials \ for such names a.s Rob Hone,: Frank .^inatra and .Tiibei Prow.«e. i Major production numbers this: year include “Mickey’s Revue,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Arislo- cats,” “Winnie the Pooh,” and many more. Goofy returns with 'Herbie the Love Bug, but this lime with a whole family of Love Bugs: Gorgeous Gloria and Her bie Junior, who’s just a chip off the old cylinder at that. Mickey (Mouse combines his musical tal ents wdth old favorites Donald Duck and Clara Cluck. The entire show goes French for a look at Parisian life at the turn of the century with an as sorted bunch of “Arislocats.” The original film version is translat ed to the stage complete with Ducliess and her beloved kittens and OlMalley the Alley • Cat. ChaiTning O'Malley leads his charges for a swinging ook at Parisian life where everybody wants to be a cat, “Winnie the Pooh” celebrates his birthday this year with his comic companions Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, Kanga and Roo. It’s a birthday party all right, and Winnie stuffs himself with too much honey and is doomed to a case of the “hoffalumps and woozles.” “The Three Caballeros” seg ment takes on a Latin b<?at as Donald Duck is joined by old friends Panchito and Jose Ca- rioca on a So'ulh American adven ture. This major production number features exotic tropical settings and costumes, unique Latin music and the sounds- of rare Brazilian instruments for authentic rhythms. The evenirtg is capped by the “Small World Finale” with the entire cast joining the Three Caballeros in a spectacular whirl of dancing, t'olor and fiesta making. Tickets priced at $5.00, $1.(X) and $3.00 are on sale at the Coli seum Box. Mail orders accepted.
