Mr. and Mrs. William Edward
Robinson, Jr., who were wed Fri
day, are on a wedding trip to
Europe and afterwards will be at
home in Dallas, Texas.
Miss Carol Jean Goter became

noon in a 4 p.m. contemporary
worship service in Resurrect.on
Lutheran church.
The Rev. A. Glenn Boland
heard the vows and officiated at
Holy Communion with the con
gregation participating and with
the bridal couple's parents saying
a parental blessing at the altar.

ter, Jr., of Austin, Texas, to the
front of the sanctuary where all
the wedding party was seated in
special pews for the worship ser
vice.
The congregation joined in the
singing of “Now Thank We All
Our God” and responses and Mr.
Canan sang “Hymn of Praise.’*
After the reading of Old Testa
ment Lessons, the Chancel choir,
under the direction of Donald
Deal, sang the Thanksgiving an
them, “Alleluia” and the minis
ter read New Testament selec-
tiens. The congregation joined in
the singing of “Deck Thyself With
Joy and Gladness” after a wedd
ing sermon by Pastor Boland on
“Love” from First Corinthians 13.
The bride and ibridegroom came
lu the altar together with their
mothers and members of their
wedding party to exchange vows
in a double-ring ceremony. After
they were wed and the parental
blessing was said the bride and
groom exchanged the sign of
peace (a kiss) with their families
and wedding party and returned
to their pews for the 'Liturgy of
the Eucharistic 'Meal. The Choir
sang “The Sanctus” and the min
ister read “The Great Thanks
giving” ^nd invited the wedding
party and all worshippers to the
altar for the serving of the Lord’s
Supper. The communion service
closed with the congregational
praying of the Lord’s Prayer.
Worshippers joined in the singing
of “Come With Us, 0 Blessed
Jesus” 'cefore the benediction and
recessional of the wedding party
to "Trumpet Voluntary,” by or
gan and trumpet.
The bride's wedding gown was
an Original of off-white silk
faille designed with rolled collar
embellished with seed pearl trim,

tist church, heard the pledges in
the presence of their immediate
families.
A white wrought-iron arch cov
ered in ivy and banked with
pink and white mums formed a
background for the setting. The
couple knelt on a white kneeling
bench for the benediction.
The tride was given in mar
riage by her father, Billy H. Roi>
erts. She wore a traditional floor
length wedding gown of all-over
Cluny lace designed with basque
waist, bishop sleeves and pearl-
encircled high neckline. A match
ing Camelot lace headpiece held
her bouffant fingertip veil of
illusion. She carried a Symphony
cascade of pink carnations, Star
of Bethlehem and pink star flow-

Patterson Grove Baptist church
was the setting November 18th
for an exchange of wedding vows
uniting Miss Peggy Jorene Gra
ham and Glenn 'Ray White.
Rev. Richard Plyler, minister
of the church, officiated at the
double-ring candlelight ceremony
and was vocalist for the program
of nuptial music. Mrs. J. C. Brid
ges was organist.
The altar of the church was ar
ranged with two tree candelabra
centered with a lighted arch of
cathedral tapers. A large basket
of mixed fall flowers in yellow,
bronze and gold was at the cen
ter 0^' the altar flanked on either
side with palms.
Donald R. Graham escorted
his sister to the altar and gave
her in marriage. The loride’s wed
ding gown was a formal design
of Chantilly lace posed over
faille taffeta and styled with an
Edwardian collar of lace scallops,
motifs of pearl florets and crys
tals accented the contour bodice.

families are of Kings Mountain.
The bride-elect is a graduate of
Kings Mountain high school and
is employed by Belmont Heritage
Corporation.
The prospective bridegroom is
also a graduate of Kings Moun
tain high school and is now in the
U. S. Navy stationed in Rota,
Spain.
No date has been set for the
wedding.

Robert Brown, son of Mr. and

at 4 p.m. in Kings Mountain’s

Monday was the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr.
and Mrs. Christopher Glenn White, well-known Kings
Mountain citizens.
Mr. White, retired Phenix Plant superintendent,
married the former Velda Hamrick of Shelby in a home
wedding November 27, 1912. Both have been active in
First Baptist church and in community and civic af
fairs. Mr. White Is a charter member of the Kiwanis
club and served on the board of education. He is vice-
president of Kings Mountain Savings and Loan Associa
tion.
There are three daughters, Mrs. John Edd Queen
of Shelby, Mrs. Ernest Mauney of Syosset, New York
and Mrs. Vernon P. Crosby of Kings Mountain; three
grandsons, all named for their grandfather; John Chris
topher Queen of Fredericksburg, Va., Chistopher Glenn
Mauney of Courtland, New York; Christopher Steven
son Crosby of Kings Mountain; and two granddaugh
ters, Nlrs. Henry Boyd Blanton, II of Spartanburg, S.
C. and Miss Jeanne Mauney of New York. The Whites
will become proud great-grandparents in January
when the Fredericksburg. Va. Queens give birth to their
first child.
