Tile bride Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas White Cothran of Shelby and granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. J. O. Hord of Mn^ Mountain. She was graduated In 1972 from Shelby High School and was presented In the Shelby Debutante Ball In June that year. In Indus trial Technology. He Is associated with Freeman and White Architects and Engineers of Charlotte. Hie Rev. B. A. Halre heard the exchange of vows In the double-ring ceremony. Palms and candelabra holding lighted tapers decorated the sanctuary and centering the setting was an arrangement of eucalyptus, wheat, rust colored asters, gold mums and baby's breath. Mrs. John E. Gamble of Kings Mountain was organist for the program of nuptial music and vocal selections were by Lavon Laye of Shelby. Thomas White Cothran gave his daughter In marriage. The bride designed her wedding gown of white qulana Jersey. The wrap skirt cascaded down the front of the dress and extended Into a fuU train. The fitted bodice WU.8 accented with a handmade flower of matching material at tached at the wsdstllne and featured sheer, raglan sleeves. Her cathedral veil, also covered In qulana Jersey, was draped from a camelot cap accented with matching handmade flowers. She carried a nosegay of white gladioli tmd baby's breath. Miss Crystal Riviere of Raleigh attended the bride as maid of honor 'and biidesmaJAb were Mrg.. Jim Cothran of Goldsboro, sister-ln-law of the bride: the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Frank Lewis of Omcord; Miss Linda Jones and Miss Meg Plaster of Shelby, Miss Jane Lysko, Mrs. Wlnford Deaton, Jr. of Charlotte, Mrs. Robert Trexler of Candler, and Mrs. Ron Rusnak of Chester, Va. All the attendants wore formal gowns of rust qulana Jersey with mat ching headdresses designed Identically to that of the bride. Each carried a cascade bouquet of wheat, rust asters, gold daisies, yellow pompons and baby's breath. Clyde J. Clemmer of Concord was his stepson's best man. Groomsmen were the bride's brothers, Tom Cothran in of Shelby and Jim Cothran of Goldsboro; Jay Clemmer, Frank Lewis, Denny Wise, Don Pangle, Wayne Yow, all of Concord, and Frank Wheeler of Durham. The bride’s parents entertained after the ceremony at a beautlfuUy- appolnted wedding reception which carried out the autumn theme of the wedding. After a wedding trip to Hilton Head Island, S. C., the newlyweds will reside in Charlotte. Fsdl arrangements were combined with fern, huge potted green plants and hanging baskets to deco rate the Cothran home and terrace on Forest Hill Dr. Dr. and Mrs. Harold Plas ter, Sr. were at the front door to welcome guests and assisting In receiving and entertaining were Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Brown, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. David White, Mr. and Mrs. John L. McGill of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Walter Hiatt, Miss Nancy Anthony, Miss Sally Lynch, Miss Tricla Lynch, Mrs. John E. Gamble of Kings Mountain, Mr. and Mrs. Carlysle Isley of Burlington, Mrs. Furman Thomasson, Mrs. Jack Riviere, Mrs. Tom Jones, Miss Leslie Lynch, Miss Patricia Anthony, Mrs. Peter Baines, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Crawley, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Craft and Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Lysko. Jim Sanslng pre sented music during reception hours with his “one man band." . The bride’s table on the sunporch held the three- tier wedding cake topped with white orchids as central decoration. Punch was served In the dining room and on the terrace from sliver appointments.
