The win gives the KM team a 1-1 record In Oaston League play. Coach Charlie Bums cited Mike Black, Alan Van Dyke, Mark Smith, Paul Ingram, Carvln Petty and Carlos Owens for their defensive play. Last week's rains forced postponement of the Kings Mountain High School Junior varsity and the Kings Mountain Junior High varsity football games. The KM-Shelby jayvee game, originally scheduled for last Thursday night at John Gamble Stadium, was washed out and rescheduled for Thurs,. Oct. 14 at 7 :S0 p. m. The Jayvees, who dropped a heartbreaking 6- 0 decision to a strong Crest team In their season's opener two weeks ago, travel to Clover tonl^t for a 7:80 game. The Kings Mountain Junior High game at Bums, which was sched uled tor last Thursday afternoon at Burns, was called until Thurs., Nov. 4 and will be the Patriots’ last game of the season. Also, tonight’s regularly scheduled game between the Patriots and Uncoln- ten has been postponed until Saturday night at 7:80 p. m. because of the city's bicentennial celebration. Saturday's game will be at John Gamble Stadium. The Patriots, who tied Shelby and Crest for the Foothills Conference crown a year ago, are off to another good start, having beaten East Rutherford and Rutherfordton In their first two outings. Darrell Austin Jr., copped the 16-16 year old division with a four-over- par 76 and Don Sellers Jr. won the 18-14 year old divi sion with a 00. Both golfers were members of the Kings Mountain Junior High golf team which wcxi the Foot hills Conference golf title the past two years.
