Most days you can find them sitting astride twin riding lawn mowers and cutting grass at flve- acre Grover Cemetery or at sites of 10 well- manicured lawns In the Grover area. "We stay busy with our new jobs but we love It,” says Mrs. Benton, the former Mary Viola Adams. Mrs. Benton will cele brate her 73rd blrdiday next month. Mr. Benton will be 74 In December. When the Bentons aren’t busy at their grass-cutting. Mrs. Benton stays busy In the kitchen. She and her daughter, Mary Lou Adkins, have canned and frozen vegetables all summer and their freezers are filled with goodies they will enjoy during the winter months. They keep the church spotless and also are In charge of maintaining the cemetery grounds. Mr. Benton, who retired at age 66 as watchman at Grover Industries, Is a retired farmer and native of the Grover area. He has also worked for Childers Roofing In Kings Mountain and Archdale Dairy- Farms In Grover.
