Pledges $10,000 Pledcee to the Piedmont OouncU’s ‘“nURI Contury” Scout Camp Dbvelopmmt Pund Drive have been boosted by a $10,000 commitment from the Board of Directors of Goodwill, Inc. of Gastonia. Total gifts and pledges to purchase a new 1,045 acre reservation have now reached $1,080,884.06 or 87 percent of the minimum campaign goal. Dr. Patrick Gallagher, Administrative Vice President, tai announcing the gift said, "The Board of Directors have approved the Investment, but It la really made on behalf of everyone at Goodwill.... the officers, and each and every employe." "Many of our people are actively Involved In the Scouting Program. Some are adult volunteers, who render a great public service, while many others are parents of Scouts. We’re all pleased at being a part of providing anew reservation for the Pied mont Council. Our support will provide added Incen tives for us, and others to broaden our Involvement In a service that means so mudi to the youth of our area. The Capital Campaign for funds to purchase land and build a new camp for the eleven county Pied mont Council, Boy Scouts of America, expects to achieve Its minimum goal of $1,098,000 by year-end. Campaign General Chairman, Leonard Morets said that solicitations have been curtailed during local United Fund Drives, but they will resume efforts during the period of time following United Fund Drives and December 81.
