and found that window had
been raised and screen
pried open and entry made
from the Northeast comer
window. He could not
determine If any Items
were stolen.

In The Cemetery

Deal St. residents sus
pected recenUy when a
Rock Hill, S. C. woman
was apparenUy locked in
Mountain Rest Cemetery
for neariy an hour.
The woman driver, Mrs.
Edith Sullens Brown, had
made a leftturn on Deal St.
from LltUe Moo when the
1887 Chevy hit the curb and
threw the ear to right and
into the cemetery fence,
according to investigating
Ptt. Don Ivey.
According to Ivey, "the
car hung up on the fence
and the driver attempted
to get It down. She went
forwsutl and drove through
the cemetery to a gate
lacked off Gold St.”
Cemetery Supt. Ken
Joiklns was summoned
with the key to the
cemetery gate and Mrs.
Brown drove her car out.
Damages to the fence,
owned by the City of Kings
Mountain, were estimated
at $436 and to the car, $160,
said police.

The State Highway
Patrol reports a total of 30
accidents In Clevelsmd
County during the week of
November 18-14. Speeding
was the major cause of the
wrecks which injured 18
persons. Since January 1
the county has recorded 18
fatalities.
