C. — Friday Jan. 21 will
begin an actton-packed V.
I. P. weekend on Oardner-
Webb College Campus.
High school Juniors and
seniors and also Junior
college transfers will be
visiting Qardner-Webb as
V. 1. P.’s, or Very Im
portant Prospects. As
guests of the college they
will be Introduced to
educational programs,
faculty and students.
"We are looking forward
to having prospective
college students to come
and visit us. We want them
to take a good solid look at
who we are and what we
stsmd or, so they may
determine for themselves
If we are the school for
them," said Ray Poide,
director of counseling
services and student ac
tivities.
Students will be housed
In college dormitories and
may attend on-campus
athletic events and ac
tivities. They will be given
a tour of the campus and
will visit classrooms where
they may discuss their
careers with faculty
members and adminis
trators.
"We attempt to give all
the V. I. P.’s an accurate
picture of college life at the
Webb through par
ticipation In typical
campus activities,’’ Pople
said.
Highlighting the V. I. P.
weekend will be the ex
citing appearance of
"Starbuck,” the Southern
vocal group who hit the
charts with "Moonlight
Feels Right" and "1 Got To
Know.’’ The seven-man
band will perform In Boat
Gymnasium.
Gardner-Webb’s Bull
dog’s will also share In
tha limelight of V.. I. P.
