FYankUn Ware, Manager of the BSC'S Shelby Job Service office, stated that UI claimants are Informed at the time of their Initial claims Interview that they are eoleluy responsible for maintaining UI records for tax purposes. "Unfortunately, our local office cannot keep track of every claimant’s payment record,” Ware said. "Moreover, we almply don't have the time or staff to provide claimants with earnings statements." To those UI recipients who failed to keep detailed records. Ware suggested that an accurate Income figure could be found by multiplying the claimant’s weekly benefit amount by the number of weeks he or she received It. Mr. Ware also pointed out that while unemploy ment Insurance benefits are subject to state Income taxes, they are not taxed by the Federal Govern ment. Among the nation's 677,000 women veterans, 447,000 are married, the Veterans Administration reports. Ralph Bates and Rev. Claude Bagwell will officiate at the rites. Mr. Kirby died Tuesday at 1 p. m. In Cherokee County Memorial Hospital at Gaffney after 14 months declining health and one week serious Illness. He was a member of Limestone Street Methodist Church for 66 years and a retired textile and furniture salesman. He had been married thrice, to the late Florence Wright Kirby, Myrtle Gamer Kirby and Emma Medley Kirby. Surviving also are two daughters, Mrs. S. T. donlnger of Charlotte and Mrs. B. S.
