TYie course Is designed to Improve product knowledge, demonstration techniques, update warranty knowledge and selling techniques. Crisp studied with JC- Penney associates from throughout the eastern and southern United States during the four-day course. The Center Is one of three the Penney Company operates. The other two are In Chicago, Ill., and Buena Park, CUf. Crisp lives at Rt. 1, Box 311B, Kings Mountsdn, snd has been with the Penney Company since 197G. He Is a sales associate at the Esistridge Mall JCPenney store In Gastonia. ACCIDENT REPORT Twenty one persons were Injured In 12 wrecks on Cleveland County roads. In which six peo|de died, during the period March 7-20, according to Line Sgt. M. K. Holcomb of the State Highway Patrol. College VIP Days Scheduled BOILING SPIUNOS - Gardner-Webb College wUl hold Its third V.I.P. Weekend for high school and transfer students April 1-2. Visiting V. I. P’s, or Very Important Prospects, will be the guests of the college for the weekend and will be Introducted to the educa tional programs, faculty and students. Students staying on campus will be housed In the college's dormitories. lYiey will tour the campus and may discuss their career plans with faculty members and ad ministrators. "Our hope Is that through this kaleidoscope of activities each V. I. P. will come to get an ac curate picture of who we are and can thereby determine If Gardner- Webb la the school for him," said Ray Pople, director of counseling services and student ac- tlvltlee. The activities will begin at 8 p. m., April 1, with mime artist Keith Berger performing In Hamrick Auditorium. Berger, who has a unique way of cap tivating and enchanting his audience, has performed to cheering audlencee In Manhattan, New York Caty and Los Angeles. Tickets to the public will be 82.00. At 11: IB, April 2, the V.I.P.’s wlU be served lunch In the Charles I. Dover Campus Center and be entertained with Bugs Bunny, Little Rascals and other cartoons. Im mediately following lunch, the guests will attend a special convocation program where they will meet with college president. Dr. Craven Williams and other ad ministrators. During the afternoon visitors may attend Gardner-Webb's tennis match against Warren Wilson or swim in the college’s Indoor pool which will be open from 1-S p. m. The musical group "First NaUonal RoUglUa’’ will conclude the weekend with a concert at 8 p. m. In Bost Gymnasium.
