Page SB-MIRROR-HERALD-Thunday, April 14, 1977 Thomases Say Vows Shady Grove Baptist Church of CheiryvUle was the setting Easter Sunday for a 8 p. m. exchange of vows uniting Miss Wendy Lee Sellers and Dan Joel Thomas In marriage. The Rev. Hoyle Allred heard the exchange of vows In the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Jerry Davis was organist for the program of nuptial music and vocal numbers were by Mrs. Gwenyth Blackwelder. Given In marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of organza and Venlse lace styled along empire lines with A' rounded neckline and bertha collar. Matching lace motifs adorned the bertha, the front of the full flounce skirt and at tached train. Her waist- length Veil at Illusion was attached to a Jeweled headpiece and she carried a white Bible topped with yellow roses and baby’s breath. Miss Kimberly Sellers was her sister’s maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Kim Helms and Miss Usa Womack, both of Cherryvllle, Miss Cyndee Price of Casar, and Mrs. Layne McMillan of Jacksonville. Stacie Dale Davis and Karen Mauney were flower girls. Henry Thomas was his son’s best man. Ushers were Harold Mauney of CherryvUle, Phillip SeUers of Kings Mountain, brother of the bride, Donnie Hunt of Casar, and Layno McMUlan of JacksonvlUe. Barry McMillan carried the rings and Lee Davis was acolyte. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne S. Sellers of Kings Mountain, the bride is a 1976 graduate of Cherryvllle High School and attended UNpC. She la a student at Gaston College. Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Thomas of Cherryvllle are parents of the bridegroom who Is a 1976 graduate of Cherryvllle High School and attended UNCC. He is a student at Gaston College and Is employed by Thomas Jewelers of Cherryvllle. After a wedding trip to Atlanta, Ga., the newlyweds will be at home In Cherryvllle. MRS. Goforth of Albemarle and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. HaU Goforth of Kings Mountain, In an impressive double ring ceremony at 3 p. m. March 13 in the garden at the h(»ne of the bride’s parents. The Rev. Henry Blzsell, Jr. performed the cere mony. Blane Abernathy was soloist and Debby Waldorf was fhiUat. The vows were spoken In '\natural setting of outdoor foliage and blooming .eameUlas, buttercups and amleas. The bride was escorted ^ given In marriage by _)ier. father. She wore a ‘formal gown of silk peau and Imported Nottingham lace posed over faUle taffeta. Her bouffant veil of itngllah tulle was bordered frith Venlse florets and ijaught to a lace calot l^ked with pearls. She carried a nosegay of roses, daisies, and baby’s breath. The maid of honor. Miss Kathy BaU at Athens, Ga., wore a peach crepe back less gown with a sheer capelet and carried matching long-stemmed roses. Bridesmaids, who were attired like the maid of honor, were Miss Beth Parrish of Smlthfleld, Miss Donna WUlls of Hertford, Miss Lynn Scarborough of Nags Head, and Mrs. Mary Miller CbUngton, sister of the bride. The train bearer, MUllcent Pool of Nags Head, wore a long dress and hat of white eyelet with peach trim. The bridegroom chose his father as best man. Ushers were Steve Clark, Guy Watkins. CUy Watkins, and Brady Goforth, brother of the bridegroom, all of Albemarle. Rlngbearer was RusseU Miller, n, nephew of the bride. The mother of the bride wore a green formal gown and the bridegroom’s mother was attired In a yellow formal gown. They were presented corsages of daisies. BRIDAL PAIR The bride Is attending graduate school at Western Carolina University where the bridegroom Is a senior. After a wedding trip to Nags Head and Hatteras, they wUl Uve at Western Carolina University In OiUowhee. The reception foUowlng the ceremony was given at the Seafare Restaurant at Nags Head. The bridegroom’s parents gave a rehearsal party honoring the wed ding party and out-of- town guests at the Sea Ranch Restaurant on Friday evening, March 11. PRE-NUPTIAL EVENl-S Mr. and Mrs. Baulfour Baum entertained at a wedding brunch on the morning of the wedding day honoring the bridal party and out-of-town guests.
