Loma Withrow, a member of Ramseur 4-H Club, came away with the top award In the show, Ann Childers placed second, Brenda Berry came In third and Oaye Caveny was fourth, all are of Dixon Community 4-H Club of Kings Mountain, and Judy Stroud placed fifth. The students won ribbons and cash prizes and Miss Withrow will model her prise-winning outfit fat the state fashion review on April 39-May 1 at Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Center In ReldsvlUe. Other area 4-H'ers participating In the show were Vickie Wlleon, Crystal Lockhart, Trenna Hamrick, Angela Bell, Wanda Bell and Fredla Wilson, all of Long Branch Junior Club; Crystal Wright, Sheila Crenshaw, Dawn Bowen, Louise Stewart, all of Dixon Junior dub; and Frances Ramseur of Ramseur ckib. Ann Childers, daughter (rf Mr. and Mrs. James A. Childers of Dixon Community, second place county wlnnar, brought home a red ribbon and a $10 gift certificate. She made and modeled a pantsuit. Assisting local 4-H'ers In their project were Florence Brooks, 4-H Extension Agent; Mrs. Frances Greene and Mrs. Helen Hawks, chib leaders; and Doima Caveny, senior 4-H member. All four groups of 4-H talent earned prizes and will compete In a preliminary screening for a show to be held at Carawinda In May and will take part In a 4-H District Activity Day on June 38 at Shelby High School. Talent winners were Angela Bell and Angela Hood who danced, Long Branch; Judy Stroud, who per formed a baton act; Sandl Wells of Dixon 4-H Club, who sang; Lisa Roberts and Krista Panther, who performed a dance and gymnastic routine; and Jeff Cooper who presented a vocal solo, "Johnny One Note." The talent competition was sponsored by Kings Mountain Klwanls Club and the winners received all-eiqienBe tripe to 4-H camp.
