Mr. Jones Is moving from Kings Moisitaln this summer to accept a similar position with the AshevlUe School Astern, Ms alma mater. Mrs. Jones, also a guest of the club members and their wives for a ladles night event, was presented a shoulder bouquet of yellow roses from Mrs. Raeford White, wife of the Bethware Progressive Club president. Hal Morris and Myers T. Ham- bright, charter members of the club which has celebrated Its 80th bir thday, also pcu-tlclpated on the program. President White made the formal presentation and Supt. Jones responded, noting the valuable con- trlbutlons that the Bethware club has given to the Kings Mountain area during Its history. Rev. Obituaries M.OIFOEIOH Marlon Clay (Mud) Poaton, 67, of 804 Waco Rd., died Friday In Kings Mountain Hoapital after a year’s fight with cancer. He was bom Jime 17, 1902 In Shelby son of the late Albert Pinkney Poston and Nora Eskridge Poeton. Mr. Poston was In the poultry business until his retirement In 1974. Prior to that he was a salesman and truant officer for the Kings Mountain City Schools. He was a former member of the Official Board of Central United Methodist Church, former member of Lions club and a member of Bethware Progressive Club. He was very active in Alcoholic MRS. VIOLA HOPE Funeral services for Mrs. Viola McCluney Hope, wife of James Hope, were conducted Sunday at 3:80 p. m. from Shady Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Mrs. Pruella KUgors, Rev. E. E. Harris and Rev. R. F. Kilgore, Interment following In St. Peter’s Cemetery In Orover. Mrs. Hope died Wed nesday. She was daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis McCluney and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Durham and of the deacon’s board and flower club. Surviving, In addition to her husband, are two brothers. She explained the requirements for petitioning the federal courts for citizenship through the Department of Immigration and Naturallzatlan, outlining the requirements Involved and displayed samples of the required Information forms. She also described the formal ceremony at which the certificate of U. S. Citizenship was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Holmes as well as many other people of various nationalities. ’Two members of the local DAR Chapter, Mrs. Lucille Nelsler and Mrs, Josephine E.
