(Betty Bradahaw) Salem Methodist Church of Rice, Va. provided the setting April 8 for a 2 p. m. exchange of wedding vows uniting Hiss Nancy Eliza beth Bradshaw of Rice and Philip Grover Padgett, Jr. of Kings Mountain. Rev. James C. Hennings of Annandale, Va. offi ciated, using the double- ring ceremony. Mrs. Mattlemarle J. White was orgsinlst for the program of nuptial music and Mrs. Quota S. Watson was soloist and sang “The Wedding Prayer” after the reading of I Corinthians 18 and the wedding cere mony. The congregation prayed together a prayer of blessing and the bene- dlctlonal Lord’s Prayer. Robert Julian Bradshaw escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her In marriage. The bride’s gown was a formal design of Ivory silk Jersey trim med with lace appliques with long traditional sleeves and sweetheart neckline. Her fingertip veil of Illusion was attached to a Juliette cap and she car ried a bouquet of bridal roses. Mrs. Dianna Goforth Bradshaw was her sister- in-law’s matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Louise Hanbury Davis of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Rosaline Shoffner D’Onofrio of Northern Vir ginia, Mrs. Marilyn Pltha Jones and Mrs. Rosa Pettit Noyes, both of Richmond, and Miss Susan Hope Spiro of Fairfax. All the attendants wore aqua blue OuUna fOrmsUa featuring soft cowl neck lines and cap sleeves. Hiey carried cascade bouquets of daisies. The flower girls wore white long gowns enhanced by tourquolse print, tourquolse SMhes and lutlr ribbons and csurled flower baskets of turquoise petals. The bridegroom’s grandmother's prayer pU- lowB were used by the cou ple as they knelt at the altar for the benediction. Flower glris were Cathe rine Atwood Noyes, Jane Perry Noyes and Susan Sydnor Noyes, Goddaugh ters of the groom. Eklmund Noyes, Jr. of Richmond was best man for the bridegroom and groomsmen were Robert Courier Bradshaw of Blacksburg, Scott Martin Harwood of FarmvlUe, Carlyle Peerman Holland, m, of Virginia Beach, Va., Charles Cooper Padgett of Charlotte, N. C., brother of the bridegroom, and Nel son Ray Ramsey of Petersburg, Va., brother- in-law of the bridegroom. The bride's parents entertained after the ceremony at a beautifully- appointed reception In Wedgewood Country Club, FarmvUle, Va. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ju lian Bradshaw of Rice, Va, are parents of the bride who Is a graduate of Averltt College In Dsui- vllle, Va. The bridegroom Is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Grover Padgett, Sr. of Klnga Mountain and Is a graduate of Hampton- Sydney College In Virginia and completed a tour of USAF duty as a navigator- bombardier. He la em ployed as products manager In the Tax Sheltered Investment Division of Merrill-Lynch In New York City. Midland Pines, New Jersey Is home for the newlyweds. Registered adults and Senior Scouts from (Cleve land, Gaston, Lincoln and Rutherford Countlea at tended the luncheon meeting. In addition to regular council yearly business, awards were presented. Mrs. Grover W. White, outgoing president, re ceived the Thanks Badge, highest award given to a volunteer for outstanding service to Girl Scouting. Mrs. John Gamble of Llncolnton also received a six years award for out standing service to Girl Scouting. Others honored were Mrs. Frank Chessman and Mrs. Ron Ownbey, of Oaa- tcnla, Mrs. Tom Harman, Forest City, Mrs. Albert Holland of Shelby, and Mrs. Calvin Murdock of CherryvlUe; Mrs. Lem Boulware of Gastonia, Mrs. Jerry Dover of Shelby and Mrs. Max Roger of Rutherfordtcn, all of whom received the Appreciation Pin; Rev. Miss Jones Feted At Drop-In Shower Miss Donna Jones, whose wedding to Lewis Miller takes place May 31 In First Baptist CSiurch, was honored Saturday at a drop-ln party-shower In Hudson. Entertaining together were Mrs. Randy Wllaon, sister of the brldegroom- to-be; Mrs. Euell Koontz, aunt of the brldegroom-to- be; and Mrs. Gary Miller, alater-ln-law of the bridegroom-to-be. Seventy-five guests showered the couple with gifts for their new home and called from 8 until 6 p. m. A color theme of yellow and white featured decora tive details and party re freshments. A con versation piece was the gift table where the bride- to-be's future mother-in- law had decoupaged a collage of childhood pic tures of the bride-to-be and her future husband. Over laid with lace over yellow, the refreshment table waa centered with a spring bouquet and held the rilver punch bowl at one end. Punch and party pick-ups were served. Receiving with the bride- to-be were her mother, Mra. Donald D. Jonea, and her future mother-in-law, Mra. R. B. MlUer of Hudson. Alao attending the party from Klnga Mountsdn was Mra. Roger Gaddla. The bride-to-be wore a green and white party dreaa and waa preaentad a shoulder corsage of yellow carnations from the hostesses. Bride-Elect Given Shower At Church Miss Rebecca Lsmn BUl- son, who will be msurled on June SSth at First Bap tist Church of Kings Moun tain, waa honored at a drop-ln shower In Green ville, S. C. April 31st. The event was held In the Family Center of Woodalde Bsqitlat Church where the bride-to-be was formerly a member. Entertaining together were Mrs. Dwight Oran- ley, Mrs. Jack Mllllgam, Mrs. C. G. Wyatt, Mra. A. M. Harper, Mrs. Larry Chapman, and Mra. Robert Graydon, all of Greenville, S. C. and Mrs. Andrew Mulligan, Jr. of BlacksvlUe, S. C. All are aunts of the bride-to-ba.
